What To Do In BNE On Saturday Nights
Hello weekend!
Get out of your PJs and step away from the computer – it’s time to get the most out of the glorious gift that is the weekend! We’ve compiled a list of the best things to do on a Saturday night in Brisvegas, no matter what mood you’re in. From taking in the wonders of the universe to having a cocktail by the Brissy river, we guarantee there’s something for everyone here.
Look to the Stars
Sick of drinking every weekend and having to write off Sunday because you’re too hungover? Try something new (and non-alcoholic)! On Saturday nights the Cosmic Skydome stays open late for a tour of Brisbane’s night sky. Take in the wonders of the galaxy around you with a range of captivating shows projected onto the dome, where you’ll feel totally immersed in a virtual reality universe! We recommend you book tickets in advance so you don’t miss out!

Sip and Paint
Ahh our two favourite words – wine and painting! If you’re looking for your next creative night out or a great place to take a date – Cork & Chroma has you covered. Located at two studios in South Brisbane (Montague Road and Little Stanley Street), a friendly artist will guide you step by step through an acrylic painting, while you sweep your brush on a canvas and more importantly, sip on your favourite drop.

Did Someone Say Drinkies?
Cheers to Saturdays, the best day of the week! And where better to enjoy a night full of food, drinks and amazing river views than at Howard Smith Wharves? With a host of epic bars and restaurants (Greca is a must try!), you can’t go wrong. However, if you’re keen to spend the night with your furry friend, head to Weekends on The Lawn (right down the end of the wharves), where pets are welcome.
That’s A Strike
Twelve bowling lanes, laser tag, karaoke, pool tables – what more could you want? Whether you’re competing to be crowned bowling king or queen, or just a fan of some wholesome fun, Strike Bowling is the place for a great night out. FYI, they have a fully equipped cocktail bar, too. Let the fun begin!
Picnic by The River
Delicious food, city views, sunset – we’re there! Popolo Italian Bar and Kitchen offers picnic style dining, sending you down the grass with a picnic basket filled with all the goodies – pizza, fries, salad and an antipasto platter (aka food heaven). Grab your pals or a hot date and watch the city light up against the night sky while you feast.

Hall Yeah
Your favourite waterfront brewery – Felons Brewing Co. has officially expanded to include its next-door neighbour, Howard’s Hall. Now you can enjoy a redefined beer and brewery experience at the freshly established Felons Barrel Hall. This new location is a must for beer lovers, where you’ll find a core range of delicious and crisp beers, as well as selected limited and seasonal release beers. For the perfect accompaniment, Felons Barrel Hall offers bold and unique food, ranging from decadent rainbow painted crayfish to Moreton Bay bug, while of course including classics such as hot chips. Open 11am to late from Thursday through to Sunday your weekend is sorted!
Wheely Fun
An iconic landmark on the South Bank skyline, if you’ve never been on the Brisbane Wheel – you need too. Offering a 360-degree panoramic view of beautiful Brisbane city, this activity is perfect for a date night, with visitors able to enjoy a romantic sunset ride or see the sparkling city lights at night. Want to take your date one step further? You can opt for a Sky High Romance Package – which includes a picnic while you ride. It’s a win win to us!
See the Stars Under the Stars
If you’re wanting to have a chill Saturday night away from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane’s night scene, the Yatala Drive-In is the perfect place. Put a mattress in the back of your car and pack some yummy movie snacks (maltesers and popcorn are a must!) for the ultimate date night. With both classics and new releases constantly on rotation, there is something for every movie fanatic at the drive-in.
Frothies, frothies, frothies
Did you say live music, delicious food, drinks and pool? We’re there! With live entertainment from Thursday night through to Sunday and an extensive list of draught beers on tap, the Archive Beer Boutique is the perfect place to spend your Saturday night. If beer isn’t your thing, don’t panic, there’s plenty of spirits, wines and cider to quench your thirst! And during the month of October to celebrate Oktoberfest, there is a special deal – $29 for a chicken or beef schnitzel with a Weihenstephaner Festbier beer served in your own stein glass to take home! After all, who doesn’t love a free souvenir?
Joy Ride
In the mood to explore? Why not do something fun and different this Saturday night and take a Segway Tour to see Brissy’s most popular attractions on two wheels! We promise you’ll get to see much more of Brisbane in a shorter space of time than if you were walking. Plus, who hasn’t been dying to ride on a segway since watching the movie Paul Blart Mall Cop when they were a kid? We know we are!
