Experience the Charm of Mountain-Style Cabins on the Gold Coast

Off the grid

By Kiri Johnston | 18th June 2024

Indulging in ultimate relaxation at qtQT Luxe Cabins in the Gold Coast was an experience where cosy mountain vibes seamlessly blended with luxury. Nestled in the lively Gold Coast, it offered a serene escape. During my stay, I reveled in gourmet dining, pampering spa treatments, and unparalleled comfort, making it the perfect getaway.

A Cosy Mountain Retreat
Waking up in a big, fluffy cloud of I Love Linen bedding, I almost forgot where I was. It felt like being in a cosy, secluded cabin nestled in the mountains, miles away from the bustling Surfers Paradise.

A Warm Welcome
Upon arriving at qtQT from the main resort, QT Gold Coast, it felt like stepping into paradise. The six cabins, each with handmade surfboards and private entries, are perfect for either two guests or solo travelers. Settling into my room, the evening ritual began with Sunset Aperitivo by the qtQT Fire Pit, which offered a warm and inviting welcome.

Dining Delights
In the evening, I enjoyed dinner without leaving the hotel. Yamagen, the Izakaya dining and Japanese whisky bar on the ground floor, served traditional dishes in a laid-back atmosphere with impeccable service. For an after-dinner beverage, the Queen Bee Patron Coconut Margarita Cocktail at Stingray was a must-try. Alternatively, a nightcap before returning to my cabin ensured a heavenly snooze.

The Best of Both Worlds
qtQT Luxe Cabins are truly unique in the vibrant Gold Coast area, known for its high-rises and bustling nightlife. Here, I enjoyed the best of both worlds. Resort facilities, the pool area, beautiful beaches, and nearby shops were all within reach. Alternatively, I could completely unpack, unwind, and disconnect for the most relaxing stay. Each room had a timber cabin-like feel with warm tones and modern finishes. Equipped with everything needed for an ultra-comfortable stay, it was perfect for unplugging and unwinding in a distraction-free environment, whether traveling solo or as a couple. Each cabin was well-stocked with carefully considered, locally sourced products, maintaining the resort’s ambiance.Travel_qtQT-Luxe-Cabins-Gold-Coast-Hotel
Breakfast Bliss
As an early riser, I got my morning fix of breakfast and caffeine at Bazaar, starting the day off on the right foot. The dining options ranged from à la carte to buffet, with fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, toast, savoury pastries, Asian-style fare, and indulgent waffles and pancakes to finish on a high.

spaQ Serenity
To make the most of my holiday experience, I treated myself to a well-deserved session at spaQ. The 60-minute full-body massage was a personal favourite, with customisable pressure and areas of focus. I opted for firm pressure to ease any tension in my upper back area. The full service included a robe and slippers and ended with a wind-down herbal tea in the chill-out zone.

QTea High Tea
I was lucky enough to indulge in their traditional QTea High Tea. which sent my tastebuds on a journey from savoury to sweet perfection. Some of the main highlights were the honey roasted pumpkin and sage macaron and QT Ferraro. But there were several other delights including a lemon and herb baked chicken mini croissant through to sugary sensations such as strawberry and basil cheesecake all carefully curated and paired with a selection of tea, espresso coffee, Champagne or their new boozy iced tea range.

BROOKI BAKEHOUSE x QTea High Tea
For one month only, QTea High Tea partners with BROOKI Bakehouse to offer an innovative and dynamic menu. This June, QT Gold Coast’s exclusive Q’s and Tea event features savoury bites by Executive Chef Greg Benney and sweet treats by Brooki Bakehouse‘s Brooke Saward. Indulge in Brooki’s legendary cookies and delectable macarons, redefining traditional high tea. Find more details here.QTea High Tea x Brooki Bakehouse

Convenient Location
With everything I needed at qtQT and just an hour’s drive from Brisbane, the ease and convenience of a solo or couple stay made the experience even more enjoyable. For more things to see and do on the Gold Coast, check out these six must-visit places recommended by a local.
