Need a dose of caffeine to get you through the day? Here are our picks of Brisbane’s best coffee on the south side.

Blacksmith Specialty Coffee, Mount Gravatt East

Blacksmith is all about community; they love remembering regulars’ orders and getting to know new faces. Using local specialty roaster Bean Bones Espresso, they weigh and dose every single coffee and only serves it if it has a balanced extraction.

Todd & Pup, Moorooka

Todd & Pup is dog- and human-friendly and fully licensed. Sit outside on the astro-turfed deck with your furry friends and a cup of their Genovese Coffee. The food menu is full of delicious, hearty food – make sure you try the vege stack!

Located in The Village in Yeronga, Nessun Dorma is bound to be a new favourite for your daily caffeine boost. Their beans are sourced from ethically-responsible farms all over the world and roasted onsite. The house blend has a smooth finish with flavours of chocolate and blueberry, and is a three bean mix using Colombian, Brazilian and Rwandan beans.

Seven South, Yeronga

This popular new hotspot has a great vibe, cool décor and heavenly coffee! They use Dramanti Artisan Roasters from nearby Wynnum and puts their own twist on traditional favourites to serve locals a finger-licking list of top-notch meals in a comfortable setting.

Moreish Café, Stones Corner

Moreish Café combines wholesome eats with foodie favourites. Their salad and smoothie bars serve up fresh and healthy alternatives for breakfast and lunch daily, as well as a constantly changing selection of savoury and sweet breakfast plates. Dovetail on Overend, Norman Park

Beanhunter named Dovetail one of the top 10 cafés in Australia two years in a row. They use local roaster Uncle Joe’s Coffee and the team is passionate about catering for various food intolerances and dietary preferences in a way that doesn’t make customers feel alienated or “guilty”. Give the gluten-free sticky pecan scrolls or purple yam cupcakes a go when you grab a brew. Everything is prepared in-house!

Nomad Espresso, Carina

Nomad Espresso is known for delicious Dramanti Artisan Roasters coffee. The beans are always fresh, sourced directly from worldwide local farmers and roasted in Cleveland by the Sestic Family (Sasha Sestic is currently known as the world barista champion). Their house blend is a mix of Brazilian, Ethiopian and PNG beans and there is also a single origin roast that changes every two weeks. We dare you not to fall in love with their coffee and staff!

The Jam Pantry, Greenslopes

Tucked away off Logan Road, The Jam Pantry has a quirky, country-retro cottage décor with a comfortable and welcoming feel. They use a strong, fruity Supreme Roasters Origin blend and each cappuccino is topped with shaved 70 per cent dark chocolate, which converts flat white, and latte drinkers to the fluffy side.

Lady Marmalade Café, Stones Corner

Pouring all their coffee with loads of love, Lady Marmalade uses the best quality ingredients and offer a milk menu to suit every customer’s dietary requirements and tastes. The rustic food selection, Genovese Coffee and warm blankets that you can rug up in keep their customers coming back for more. Being super pet-friendly, they even have their own Insta hashtag, #puppiesofladymarmalade.

Espresso Garage, South Brisbane

This hole-in-wall café has built up a strong following since opening its doors 10 years ago. It’s a favourite pit stop among cyclists (and non-cyclists, of course!). Bask in the sun and enjoy a cup of coffee – they use Audacia by Espresso di Manfredi, which is a rich, full-bodied blend.

Moose & Gibson, Woolloongabba

Coffee served at Moose & Gibson is sourced from Two Seasons to coincide with the climate changes in Australia, guaranteeing a smooth and consistent flavour and texture all year round. The industrial yet inviting décor is a great place to dine in and try their warm and hearty food options – you can’t go past their baked eggs!

After 10 years in the business, Brown Dog Café is proud of its simple, personable atmosphere. Set in a quiet street in Woolloongabba, it is definitely a hot spot for locals to come grab their morning cup of Espresso Di Manfredi Classico blend. As the name suggests, brown dogs (and not so brown dogs) are welcome!
