save now, salon later

Pinterest’s first Beauty Trend Report 2026 charts that shift across hair, makeup, nails, skincare and fragrance. The takeaway? We’re getting more particular about what we want, down to the shade, texture and finish.
Drawing on global searches from July 2025 compared with July 2026, the report tracks everything from cherry-cola brunette hair to marshmallow perfume. Some of the biggest increases belong to manicures, with searches for polka-dot cat-eye nails rising 1,585%.
If your saved folder is due for a refresh, these are the trends to have on your radar.
Your next manicure has range
A plain colour appointment could become a much longer conversation. Searches for jelly pink chrome nails are up 1,469%, while milky white chrome nails in an almond shape have risen 1,402%. Cat-eye effects, which give polish a shifting, reflective finish, are also drawing attention in dark red, gothic shades and dotted designs.
There’s plenty happening at the softer end of the spectrum, too. Caramel nude nails are up 943%, coffee nail searches have climbed 922% and raspberry jelly nails 828%. The palette moves between café browns, sheer berry shades and creamy neutrals.
Save the exact finish you’re after before your appointment. “Pink nails” leaves a lot open to interpretation.
Brunette gets a richer colour chart
Mocha, espresso, cherry cola: the hair colour menu is getting deliciously detailed. Searches for mocha balayage hair have climbed 949%, followed by soft copper blonde at 845% and cherry-cola brunette at 788%.
Across the report, deeper bases appear alongside warmer ribbons of colour, with copper, auburn and plum adding dimension. For anyone considering a colour change, there’s a whole spectrum to discuss with your colourist between a subtle warm tint and a full copper transformation.
The bob loosens up
The bob remains firmly on the mood board, with layered, textured versions attracting attention. Searches for long layered bob haircuts have risen 622%, short layered bobs 571% and French bobs with wispy bangs 394%.
Flipped ends, shaggy layers and soft fringes also feature. The common thread is movement, with plenty of room for curls, waves and a less precise finish.
Bring references that show both the length and texture you like. Two cuts described as a “French bob” can look very different.
Pink hair makes a cameo
A colour change doesn’t have to involve your entire head. Pinterest’s report points to growing interest in pink streaks, face-framing pieces and colour tucked underneath darker hair.
Searches for dark pink peekaboo hair are up 481%, pink hair stripes 463% and dusty rose pink hair 198%. Teal and pink combinations are also gaining traction.
Whether you’re saving a single streak or a full pink look, placement is part of the appeal.
Frosted makeup returns to the bag
Silver liner, pastel blue shadow and metallic lips are bringing a cooler palette to makeup. Searches for frosted makeup have increased 286%, with metallic lips and pastel blue eyeshadow also on the rise.
The report’s “Arctic Frost” trend spans crystal accents, reflective gloss and icy finishes. There’s scope to go all in, but a silver-lined eye or a frosted lip is an easy entry point for your next night out.
Blush gets more attention
Blush is moving higher on the cheeks and towards the temples, with dusty rose, terracotta, peach and berry shades all featuring in the report.
Searches for dusty rose blush are up 189%, terracotta blush makeup 164% and peach blush makeup 148%. Alongside them, interest in blurred lips and soft wispy lashes suggests a softer finish elsewhere on the face.
Pinterest also tracks a broader appetite for romantic beauty: natural-looking makeup, freckles, loose curls and wisps around the face. Choose your blush shade, build it gradually and let it carry the look.
Fragrance heads for the dessert menu
Marshmallow, milk, coffee and chocolate are appearing in fragrance searches, with sweet, comforting notes drawing attention.
Searches for marshmallow perfume have risen 248%, gourmand fragrance 147% and milky perfume 134%. Skin scents are up 287%, pointing to an appetite for fragrances that sit close to the wearer.
Interest in fragrance wardrobes is growing, too. Your next perfume search might start with a particular note, mood or occasion instead of a single signature scent.
Body care earns more shelf space
The report also records increased interest in body and scalp routines, from moisturisers to exfoliating washes.
Searches for body wash for glowing skin are up 206%, body care routine aesthetic 202% and healthy skin barrier 71%. Scalp treatments and scrubs feature in the wider picture.
The broader takeaway is that beauty attention is extending beyond the face, with the shower shelf becoming another focus of our saved folders.
Across the report, the most useful inspiration comes with details. A sheer berry manicure. A layered bob with a soft fringe. A perfume with a milky note. Next time you find a look you love, save the specifics.
