Babylon’s Lush Levantine-Inspired Waterfront Bar Is Now Open

When in Babylon

By Dinushka Gunasekara | 21st March 2023

Just like how the real Babylon sat on the Euphrates River, Brisbane’s very own slice of Levantine has officially opened a waterfront outdoor bar to have you hitting refresh under the palm trees.

Babylon Garden is the final stage of Brisbane’s newest urban dining and drinking destination, Babylon Brisbane, and offers two al fresco terraces spread over the banks of the Brisbane River. Boasting spectacular Story Bridge views and bold green hues to complete the Mediterranean-influenced ambience, the 500-capacity space has instantly climbed the ranks of Brisbane’s best new bars this year.

From the 10m brass bar top comes a Middle Eastern and East Mediterranean food and drink offering, with signature cocktails including the Semiramis’ Throne made with Tanqueray Sevilla, mastic liqueur, apricot, lemon, falernum, and orange blossom, or the Turkish Espresso Martini with Turkish coffee and cardamom-infused Metaxa 7, chocolate liqueur, orgeat, and cold brew. Meze is the name of the game when it comes to food, with shared snacks of kadinbudu (spiced beef, kashar cheese, and rice balls with muhamarra), crispy chicken wings with Baharat spice, harissa, and labneh, and homemade falafel with tahini sauce, dukkah, and lemon.

With every seat in the house offering stellar water views, it’s always a good time to wine and dine like they did in Babylon!

Babylon Garden is now open at 145 Eagle Street, Brisbane City. Book here.
