The Victoria’s Secret Runway Show has strutted back onto the scene after a six-year hiatus and it feels like the Super Bowl of fashion has finally returned and it was better than we ever expected.
Featuring a stunning lineup of iconic angels both familiar faces and fresh talents at Duggal Greenhouse in New York City, the runway saw an array of breathtaking looks and invited us back into the glitz and glam of Victoria’s Secret. From huge wings and shimmering ensembles to intricate details, the designs were nothing short of breathtaking.
The show
What went down at the show? Let us tell you. O.G. Angel Gigi Hadid kicked things off in a stunning light pink satin ensemble, complete with mechanical wings that rose as she walked. This show was a historic moment as Lila Moss, daughter of the legendary Kate Moss, walked side by side with her mom, adding a heartwarming touch to the evening. The lineup was a supermodel dream team, featuring icons like Kate herself, along with beloved VS Angels Bella and Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Taylor Hill, Candice Swanepoel, Irina Shayk, Joan Smalls, and more. Bringing these icons, along with new faces to the show like Ashley Graham and Alex Consani, effortlessly brought together past and present, illustrating the much-needed evolution audiences have been asking for.
One of the most highly-anticipated elements of the VS is undoubtedly the musical performances. With artists like The Weekend, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Maroon 5, you can see why we fans get so excited. This year absolutely didn’t disappoint. Kicking off with Lisa, member of the Korean girl group Blackpink, as Gigi waltzed down the runway, followed by a stellar performance by Tyla, who could easily have been mistaken for an angel herself, sporting a pair of feathered wings. Although a tough act to follow, Aussie musician Orianthi wielded her guitar in an epic performance, featuring the song ‘I Love Rock ‘N Roll’ while the models strutted their stuff – it was nothing short of badass. After another fabulous performance by Lisa, the one and only Cher closed the show – now you truly can’t find someone more iconic. Performing her hits ‘Strong Enough’, and ‘Believe’, her presence was powerful enough to bring a tear to any eye.
The after party
Now not only did the show itself impress but the after party too. Barbara Pavlin and her husband, Cole Sprouse, made a striking entrance with Barbara dazzling in a sleek black dress adorned with shimmering diamond fringe. Meanwhile, Ashley Graham turned heads in a stunning black number featuring daring lace-up sides. And Tyla? Just when you thought her Pink Carpet and runway looks couldn’t get any more breathtaking, she closed out the night in jaw-dropping white lingerie, elegantly draped in a plush pink and brown fur coat. It was a night of glamour that left everyone talking.
