MBFF Brisbane Exclusive: The Who, What, When, Where And How
Don’t be fashionably late!By Guest Styler | 4th June 2019
It’s all in the details and with that, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane has not missed a beat. The 2019 program has been unveiled and it’s here to impress those of fashion royalty, far and wide. Showcasing Brisbane’s most sought after location, sit back, kick-off your Solsana (or Kmart) winter boots and warm up with an exclusive peek at what’s planned to put Brisbane on the fashion map this August.
In swish taste, Howard Smith Wharves will play host to the week-long festivities featuring a series of immersive events, must-see shows and ticketed soirées.
What’s a launch without a party? The festival will officially kick-off on Sunday 25 August with guests glowing in white against the sunset. That’s right – a white party. Guests can celebrate with an evening of canapés, beverages and a sneak peak of runway collections to set the mood of the following week.
Forget flying to Paris for culture, Brisbane will be the go-to (or stay-to) destination. The following four days, if recovered from the launch party, will feature shows by Alice McCALL, Aje, White Label Noba, Calibre, Viktoria & Woods and the impressive list goes on. Plus, one we mustn’t forgo: Bvlgari.
Who will take the reigns and step foot first? No other than our own QueensPlaza with a showcase of their new collections of both Australian and international labels.
But, it’s not all about the runway this year as we will be sashaying our way down to the wharves for a program of non-catwalk events. Mr Percival’s will transform into The Fashion Bar while you can live the dream of champagne on a Monday with a fresh addition: Lunch with the Girls at Brisbane City Hall. To sweeten the deal and have you shinin’, each attendee to the luncheon will automatically go in the draw to win a statement piece by McKinney’s Jewellers in celebration of their 135th anniversary. After all, diamonds are said to be a girl’s best friend.
Want to be a runway regular? Tickets are now on sale starting from $48 with VIP tickets also available.
Don’t miss a beat this Fashion Week with Style Media as your go-to destination for everything MBFF Brisbane.
