In June we were treated to a sneak peek of what this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane had in store for us when the face of MBFF was announced as none other than local stunner, Grace Simmons. With an incredible shoot on site at the magnificent St John’s Cathedral, our excitement for one of the biggest events on Queensland’s fashion calendar piqued to an all-time high. With the festival set to takeover Brisbane from Sunday 26 – Thursday 30 August, we’ve been eagerly awaiting news of what we can expect for the next instalment of the contemporary and innovative showcase.
Now, we have a whole new batch of goodness to tantalise us before the festival officially launches in August! With the full program announced, we now know which esteemed and emerging designers will be gracing the runways of the festival. This year’s line-up includes a strong selection of local, emerging designers who are shaking-up the runway, as well as highly esteemed established designers that we all know and love.
The Pacific Fair Fashion Show (taking place at Old Government House on Monday, 27 August) will feature new season collections from the best Australian and International fashion brands including AJE, alice McCALL, Christian Louboutin, Dion Lee, David Jones, Ginger & Smart, Incu, Maje, Sandro Paris and more!
On Tuesday, don’t miss out on tickets to the Mercedes-Benz Group Show 1, featuring a stellar line-up of some of the most loved Australian brands. Camilla, Giner & Smart, White Label Noba, Scanlan Theodore, Ella Moda and George Wu will all grace the runway with their incredible new season designs.
On Wednesday, the Next Gen Group Show will be your chance to discover the newest names in fashion and enjoy the latest work from some of Brisbane’s emerging designers. The show will feature emerging designers with less than 3 years in the business, as well as local student designers from QUT, KG Bold (Kelvin Grove State College), TAFE Queensland and Club Couture Australia. Expect to see the likes of Nardia Panettiere Couture, Kokoswim, Annalise Designs and ZENgara by Naomi De Marco.
On Thursday, the festival will close with the incredible Mercedes-Benz Group Show 2, exhibiting work from incredible local designers such as Naudic, Sacha Drake, Urbbana, Maiocchi and more.
