Boho Chic Is Back With A 2024 Makeover: Let’s Talk About It
The boho reboot
Stealth wealth this, Sofia Richie that — it’s time to rewind to the early 2000s, when her iconic older sister, Nicole Richie, was evading paparazzi with a Chloé Paddington bag slung over her arm. The look you’re thinking of? Utterly boho-chic. And now, all the fringe, frills, and flares are making a stylish comeback.
In the mid-2000s, designers like Isabel Marant and Ralph Lauren brought the boho babe to life with sheer, whimsical florals. This year, we caught a glimpse of the revival at the Met Gala, where boho-chic icon, Sienna Miller, graced the stairs in a white lace Chloé number.
Speaking of Chloé, we have the new creative director Chemena Kamali to thank for lining the runways with wedges on all the hottest celebs. Kamali’s debut at Chloé was a breath of fresh air, offering a playful antidote to the austere minimalism seen elsewhere – a nod to the best of the ’70s.
Now, mainstream fashion is embracing the new bohemian. You can shop the look for less at MANGO, which has released its new collection, “Bohemian Muse,” featuring ruffles, tassels, and sheer overlays reimagined with a modern twist. Australian designer Zimmermann is also on board, offering all the essential accessories, from chunky heels to round specs.
From wedges to headscarves and billowy silhouettes, our favourite celebs like Sydney Sweeney and Daisy Edgar-Jones (check out our DEJ edit here) are rocking the trend, attending meetings in sandy-hued, frilled dresses and press tours in flared boilersuits. With all the cool girls effortlessly strutting the style through the streets of LA, this is one trend we can get behind as we head into spring.
