It’s already that time of year again, we’re either rugging up our winter wardrobe with sophisticated layers, wooly knits and cosy lounge wear. Or perhaps you’re escaping the cold and heading over to Europe for their warm, sunny summer. Which in that case, you’ll need a swimsuit, comfy shoes and plenty of groovy outfits to have on rotation, we especially love linen to fit in and get through the European summers. As Australians and fashion lovers, it’s only natural we reach for our local brands to support the creative behind them and our economy. There’s no doubt us Aussies have some of the best fashion in the world. Sorry Paris and Milan… So keep reading for our wrap up of some of our favourite Aussie fashion brands that we are loving BIG TIME at the moment!

LILYA

Based in both the Sunshine Coast and Bali, as you can imagine, Lilya’s collections are inspired by world travels and beauty found in nature. Lisa Chedanne and her team create comfortable and easy-to-wear clothing to embrace your natural, confident self. Although having quite a coastal vibe, their latest collection GOLDEN has a range of coats, jackets and vests to keep your soul warm throughout the cooler months. As seen on celebs all over the world such as Gisele Bundchen, Margot Robbie and Lana Del Ray, Lilya has been an ultimate ‘it girl’ brand for the past twelve years. Be sure to check out their store opening mid this year in Berawa Beach in Bali when you’re next over there!

JASMINE & WILL

Founded by Jasmine Linsday, the Sydney sleepwear label was born after Jasmine saw a gap in the market for timeless, quality and affordable sleepwear. Jasmine & Will has been worn by some of our fave Aussies including Elle Macpherson, Lara Worthington, Victoria Lee and Jess Gomes. No matter your shape, style, fabric preference or gender, their garments are sure to make you feel the best version of yourself every time. The brand was one of the first to release their bespoke customised and monogramming services before it was one of the biggest trends. We encourage you to wear these stylish pieces both in the comfort of your own home, but also out and about too! You can’t go past a two-piece full length set with a pair of heels and a luxe handbag.

SUBOO

Knits, colours, prints and whimsical beachwear is what makes up this groovy label that was born in Bondi back in 2008. Renowned for their Australian made pieces, handmade crochet, Brazilian knits, reversible styles, intricate details, luxe fabrics, metallic threads and premium hard wear and regonised for their contemporary collections, which transcend the beach and embrace all facets of life for the modern woman. Suboo celebrates a devout following of celebs and influencers including Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, J.Lo, Jessica Alba, Miranda Kerr and Nicole Trunfio. As of July this year, Suboo will be available to purchase in David Jones and has some very exciting collaborations coming up with Belen Hostalet, Josefine H.J and Matilda Djerf.

JAMES SMITH

Famous for their Café Society woven mules seen all over the ‘gram, the Perth based label is inspired by the Parisian lifestyle. Designer and Director Breeana Smith has always loved Paris, so it’s only natural that her pride and joy James Smith is based around the most romantic city in the world. Their ultra chic vibe makes for an all round favourite for many. It’s all happening for this footwear brand that recently shot their new campaign in Italy with Steph Claire Smith! Dream of an endless European summer in their slides, heels and mules no matter where in the world you are.

LJC DESIGNS

Behind LJC Designs is the lovely Lucy Ferraro (nee Cottee) who established her label back in 2012, along with a fabulous team which includes her mum, as well as both Brisbane and Bali staff who help run the label. Inspired by the sun, surf and sand, these wearable linen pieces are designed to take you from beach to bar! The fashion and accessories label that is designed in Brisbane and handmade in Bali is truly made with love with a hint of Balinese luxe for each person to carry through all their adventures. Their beloved luxe linen range and classic staples, which has captured the hearts of many, can be found in their store in California Lane in New Farm and online. Embracing your inner-bohemian has never been easier with these thoughtful styles. DEIJI STUDIOS

For the last two years, Byron Bay born and bred label, Deiji Studios has been delivering high comfort and high quality linen bedding and loungewear to support your best sleep yet. Run by Juliette Harkness and Emma Nelson who founded Deiji together, they also have two other lovely ladies in their team to assist with customer service and wholesale. Their ever-evolving loungewear collection and their exclusive range of linen bedding colours is what this label is renowned for. Carefully sourced from France, the current selection is made from the natural fibres of the flax plant, and then woven in China. The duo has always been ethically minded since they started their label and work very closely with their friends overseas. Stonewashed for extra softness, hypoallergenic, highly breathable and environmentally friendly – Now you can wear your jarmies both in bed and out and about!
