By Astrid Taemets | 3rd May 2022

With the recent announcement that Dine BNE City is back for another banger year with four weeks of exclusive dining offers and experiences, we’re kicking up our heels and loosening our belts with anticipation.

But before you go sticking your fork into any old meal, you might want to take a peek at our selection of ways to taste the town.

Whether you’re the kind of fancy pants who’s into gin cocktails and gastronomic ten-course meals or one who prefers to roll up their sleeves and get a lil’ dirty with messy meals packed with flavour, Dine BNE City has a seat reserved just for you…

Pasta Mama X COPPA Spuntino

When: Saturday 14 May and Sunday 15 May, 12pm

Bringing the energy and flavours of Italy to our shores, Pasta Mama (aka Jenna Holmes) has been serving up unique dining experiences to lovers of good fun – and more importantly – good times down south, and in a Brisbane-first, she’s setting up home along the river at COPPA Spuntino for her first ever Sunshine State event. Allora! Bursting with fun, flavour, colour, and a carefully curated disco playlist to boot, you’re guaranteed a good time. Feeding your soul and your stomach with a three-hour ten-piece vegetarian feast (plus Aperol on arrival) on Saturday 14 May and Sunday 15 May for $165 a pop, don’t miss your chance to be part of BNE history here. See you at Spag o’clock!

Naga Thai Chef Table Degustation

When: Wednesday 18 May, 5.30pm

Wanna spice up your life? Then save yourself a seat at this eight-course degustation, plating up authentic dishes from Thailand’s most tasty regions. Prepare to sit, sip, and say ‘sawasdee’ to a nagalicious cocktail while head chef Suwisa delivers a menu popping with flavour inspired by family recipes. A heads up – she’s not shy on the ginger, garlic or turmeric, so expect big, bold, balanced, and flavourful mouthfuls with every course. Using fresh, quality Aussie produce and seafood, you’ll bite into crispy fish crackers, hamachi tacos, oven-baked rainbow trout curry, tea-smoked salmon, and more. And at just $89pp, how can you say no? Question is, can you handle the heat? Purchase your one-way ticket to flavour-town here.

Four Pillars Gin Dinner at Banc Brasserie

When: Wednesday 18 May, 6pm

Located in a grand old bank at the top of Queen Street Mall, Banc Brasserie is the new kid in town, serving up European dishes in modern refinery. But for one night and one night only, they’re teaming up with groovy gin makers Four Pillars to bring you an unforgettable night of delish canapes and a four-course menu matched with Four Pillars cocktails on Wednesday 18 May. Call the babysitter, we’re going out on a school night! Tickets will set you back $145pp – book yours here.

10-Course Degustazione at Olive & Angelo

When: Thursday 26 May, 6.30pm

Transport yourself to Nonna’s house with a ten-course Italian degustation menu at this charming city venue for an eve of food, fun, and frivolity. A steal at $99, you’ll be rolling after treating your tastebuds to traditional Italian dishes including the usual suspects such as olives, focaccia, calamari, stracciatella, and fresh tomato, as well as heartier dishes like a 12-hour slow roasted lamb shoulder, dual pesto and bolognese gnocchi, and mushroom risotto. Finish the night with fresh raspberries, panna cotta, and lemon granita and you’ll be feelin’ the love, oh molto bene! Ready for a trip to Europe? Book your ticket to Italy here.

Walter’s Chef’s Table

When: Wednesday 25 May, 6.30pm

If steak is your schtick, then a booking at Walter’s is a must – especially when they put on a show this good. Join the Steakhouse’s head chef, Gert Pretorius, for a one-of-a-kind amuse bouche event featuring four-courses plus complementary wines for a truly decadent dining affair. Starting with a light first course, you’ll slowly move onto grilled arrowhead squid, duck breast, and venison, before capping the night with a spiced apple pie. At $225pp and a minimum booking of two people, it’s not a cheap night out, but boy, is it worth the splurge. Reserve your dinner-for-two here.
