Los Felix Is Woolloongabba’s New Food Fiesta With Tijuana Flavours And Frozen Margaritas

Over the past couple of years, Woolloongabba’s dining scene has had a vibrant glow up, and you’ll find many of the residents at South City Square. From Casa Chow to Purple Palm, and South City Wine, the new faces on the block have been serving up worldly flavours in the energetic precinct, and now its latest addition will continue the legacy with a Mexican twist.

Hole-in-the-wall taqueria Los Felix is Woolloongabba’s new home of Southern Californian street-style Mexican fare, inspired by the bold and fresh flavours of Tijuana. The Talisman Group’s Head Chef Gabriele Di Landri consulted with San Miguel de Allende-born chef Aldo Lara for the endeavour, who’s hefty resume including sitting as the current head chef at hatted The Dolphin Hotel and consulting for renowned Australian Mexican restaurants including Carbón, Sonora, and Santa Catarina. In other words, the eccentric offering is one to knock your socks off.

From loaded fries to tostadas, and of course, a tight selection of soft corn tortilla tacos, traditional flavours take centre stage here, such as Baja-style beer battered snapper with chipotle mayo, orange confit pork carnitas with jalapenos, and fresh tuna aguachile. To up the ante, a platter of taco accompaniments are available upon request, loaded with tasty condiments including pickled jalapenos, chipotle sauce, and salsa verde. 

As for drinks, an assortment of mezcals and tequilas line the shelves, as well as classic, Tommy’s, and frozen margaritas. The bar also boasts paloma cocktails, Mexican beers, chavelas, and sodas to keep the good times pouring all day long.

Los Felix is now open at 148 Logan Road, Woolloongabba.
