Valentine’s Day is slowing creeping up on us, meaning it’s time to start thinking about how you are going to wow that special someone in your life. While planning and cooking a meal from scratch for a loved one is a romantic gesture, we know all too well about the pressure of creating the perfect culinary delight. If Murphy’s Law is anything to go by, if you are planning an elaborate feast for V Day, there is a high chance it could end in tragedy. Burning your prosciutto-wrapped chicken and roasted cauliflower that took you 3 hours to prep is the ultimate mood-killer after all. To help make your Valentine’s Day perfect, we have rounded up 7 of our go-to romantic restaurants in Brisbane. So, take the stress out of Valentine’s Day and book don’t cook!

Lily Restaurant at The Glen Hotel

One of the south side’s most celebrated venues is opening its doors to Brisbane couples this Valentine’s Day. Serving both a set and a la carte menu, Lily at The Glen Hotel will offer an intimate and relaxed dining experience, perfect for those hoping to connect with their special someone. Overlooking the fairy lights of the pepperina tree, and surrounded by immaculate gardens, this inviting sanctuary is ideal if you’re hoping to enjoy a night of indulgence. For entrée, choose from salt and pepper calamari, arancini, or pork belly fritters, for main, either 230g grass fed eye fillet, barramundi, or chicken ballotine, and for dessert, share a strawberry delight, featuring homemade strawberry ice-cream, Turkish Delight, mousse, crumble, freeze-dried strawberries, and rose water foam. Each dish is made with the best of seasonal produce by Head Chef Brad Casey, with love and passion in every course.

Osbourne Hotel

Invite your Valentine to a decadent three course feast at the Osbourne Hotel. Receive a glass of GH Mumm champagne on arrival, before being seated at your table in the outside bistro. The area will be especially arranged to create a romantic atmosphere, which isn’t hard when you’re immersed in the greenery of the Osbourne Hotel’s lush surroundings, while taking in the sounds of a live musician. The three course dining experience gives you the option to choose between sage butter gnocchi or beef carpaccio for entrée, shiro kin wagyu rib fillet or grilled kingfish for main, and a dessert to share, featuring textures of chocolate topped with rocky road, chocolate sand, chocolate ganache, and fresh berries.

For dinner, Jellyfish will offer two dinner sittings with a set menu of 2 or 3 courses. Entrées will feature dishes of spicy tofu, sashimi, lamb rack, and seared scallops. For the main course, you can indulge in a range of seafood options, pork or eye fillet. If you can fit in dessert afterwards, we recommend the banana chocolate mousse or cheese plate.

Wine and dine that special someone at Brisbane’s renowned riverfront steakhouse. At this intimate venue, you will be able to choose your perfect cut of grain-fed beef and have it cooked to your liking. Guests who chose the set menu option in the evenings will receive complimentary artesian sourdough bread and have the chance to select from a wide range of seafood and meat options for an entrée and main dish.

IL Centro

If you can’t make it to Rome this Valentine’s Day, make a trip to IL Centro at Eagle Street Pier instead. This innovative riverfront restaurant strikes the perfect middle-ground between being a relaxing yet elegant dining environment that is guaranteed to impress. At IL Centro, you can indulge in authentic but modern Northern Italian-inspired a la carte and set menu options like parmesan crumbed veal scaloppine with fettuccine carbonara and sand crab lasagne with creamed crustacean sauce. For dessert, why not enjoy some tiramisu with vanilla mascarpone or peach semifreddo with amaretto crumble? Our mouths are seriously watering!
