Herston
When: now to Sunday 2 November
Get ready to putt your fears to the test – Spooky Putt Putt is back at Victoria Park, and it’s more bone-chillingly fun than ever. From now to 2 November, brave the haunted greens packed with creepy surprises, glowing pumpkins, and ghostly delights lurking at every turn. Conquer the Terrors of the Tide, survive the Freakshow Fairway, and snap some pics along the way. Whether you’re spooking it up with friends, haunting your date night, or keeping the kids entertained these school holidays, it’s a scream for all ages. Plus, parents play at kids’ prices when joining little monsters aged 4 to 17. Grab a drink or snack from the fully licensed course, then sink your fangs into a feast at Victoria Park Bistro – if you make it out alive!
A Night with the Villains
Seven Hills
When: Thursday 30 October to Sunday 2 November
Bad has never looked so good. Back from the Underworld for its third year, Brisbane’s most wickedly beloved cabaret is returning to the stage — and it’s bigger, bolder, and badder than ever. Expect a night of sultry tunes, scandalous comedy, and dramatic costume reveals as the city’s favourite villains take centre stage for a devilishly fun evening of chaos and charm. Catch the mischief at Ron Hurley Theatre, Seven Hills, from Thursday, October 30 to Sunday, November 2. Sequins? Mandatory. Feathers? Encouraged. A hint of menace? Essential. So gather your ghouls, bring your loudest laugh, and prepare for a night where cabaret meets the dark side.
Oasis Halloween Boat Party
Brisbane City
When: Friday 31 October to Saturday 1 November
Why party on land, when you can dance with the dead… on the river. The Oasis Halloween Boat Party is the ultimate bougie-meets-boo experience, located on a three-story yacht cruising straight down the Brisbane River after dark. With DJs spinning, Halloween-inspired cocktails flowing and everlasting riverside views across two nights to choose form (31 October or 1 November), celebrate the spooky season in style. Come dressed in your Halloween best – glam, spooky or somewhere in between – with prizes up for grabs for those who impress. Tickets are selling quickly, and with 4 hours of non-stop tunes, don’t miss the chance to experience Halloween on the water.
Nightmare on James Street
Fortitude Valley
When: Friday 31 October
James Street’s favourite watering hole is transforming into a Halloween fever dream. The QA Hotel is where the nightmare begins – in the best way. No tickets, no hassles, just quirky costumes, tunes and a promise of wicked fun. Rally your crew for dinner first and then slip into your most over-the-top outfit and let the beats (and fake blood) flow. Remember – dress to impress, or distress!
Rave of the Dead – Halloween Costume Party
Newstead
When: Friday 31 October – 6 PM till 2 PM
If your idea of a good scare is with strobe lights and base drops, Triffid’s Rave of the Dead is your graveyard. It’s named Brisbane’s biggest Halloween costume rave for a reason, featuring a killer lineup of DJs including Sensient, Psymon and Eegor, and underground genres, psy trance, techno, prog and DnB. The entertainment doesn’t stop there, with laser shows, fire performers and face painting sure to spook your socks off. It’s loud, it’s chaotic, and it’s exactly the kind of resurrection we want to see. Doors open at 6 PM, but the real haunt begins when the clock strikes 12.
Halloween House of Horror with Dendy
New Farm
When: Friday 31 October from 6 pm
If you prefer your scares seated with snacks on hand, the House of Horror by Dendy Cinemas at the Powerhouse is your chill-but-chilling alternative. Under the full moon by the Brisbane River, watch horror classics like Shaun of the Dead and The Thing on the big outdoor screen. Be sure to come in costume, with all ticketholders showing off their spooky alter-ego, scoring free popcorn on entry. It’s spooky, social and the perfect way to begin your Halloweekend.
