Embrace the luck of the Irish and get your weekend craicing with a St Patrick’s Day extravaganza taking over The Prince Consort and Greaser for a three-day Irish spectacle.
With live music, the finest in potato-heavy Irish dining and enough Guinness flowing to drown a leprechaun, this is the event you’ve been needing to get that green-blooded Irish spirit pumping through your veins.
What to Expect
Saturday – Prince Consort
Kick things off from 11am with front-row seats to the iconic St Patrick’s Day Parade and a music lineup hotter than a ginger-haired lass. The Potbelleez DJ set, Limerick, and Murphy’s Pigs will take the stage in the Garden Bar, keeping the energy sky-high all day long as you swirl a pint around and gradually discover the correct way to pronounce ‘Sláinte’.
Festivities include:
- Feeling lucky? Try your hand at Splitting the G for a shot at a $200 venue voucher.
- Born to be Irish? If your name is Patrick, Patty, or Patricia, score a free ‘Kiss Me, I’m Irish’ hat, proven to boost your romantic prospects for the evening.
- Revenge on the potato famine: End centuries of generational trauma with a potato feast for the ages – we’re talking colcannon, baked spuds, potato gems, chips, and warm potato salad. The kitchen is also serving up Irish Curry Spice Bags to spice up the atmosphere between pints.
Saturday – Greaser
Over at Greaser, they’re cranking up the St Pat’s Day chaos with free tattoos and epic live music.
Swing by for:
- Flash tatts, free and first in, best dressed! From 4pm to 7pm, two of Brisbane’s best tattoo artists, Cat and Riley (@wovenbonestattoo), will be inking signature flash designs with a vintage twist. Think old-school Irishtown meets Fireball whiskey, with slick designs perfect for commemorating the occasion. There are no appointments, so just rock up early and put your newfound Irish luck to the test.
- Local live music acts will take over from 7:45pm before Transmission DJs hit the decks from 10pm, spinning The 1975 and friends to keep the party rolling all the way to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Sunday – Prince Consort
Same great craic, minus the live music. Aside from writing tragic poetry, there’s no activity more authentically Irish than screaming at a screen with a Guinness in hand, so settle in for a full day of sports, sports and more sports!
Monday – Prince Consort
Sure, you could show up at work at 9am on Monday and jump back into the weekly grind.
Alternatively, call in sick and back up a legendary St Patty’s weekend with another round of live music in the Garden Bar and keep the celebrations rolling into the week: letting the Guinness flow while you kick back in a comfy seat reminiscing on the accomplishments of St Patrick (no snakes allowed) with the lifelong friends you met at 2am on Sunday.
