The Art-Led Sydney Stay Every Inner Creative Needs To Book ASAP

By Natalie McGowan | 2nd July 2026Art has been deeply intertwined in The EVE’s DNA since their opening in Redfern early last year: walk through the lobby and you’ll come face-to-face with Tarryn Gill’s mesmerising, shimmering gold sculpture, The Moon; wander Wunderlich Lane, cast your eyes overhead, and be met with Jacob Nash’s Lines On Country, 20 four-metre-long aluminium sculptures that speak to First Nations knowledge systems.
It seems fitting, then, that, this winter, The EVE is launching Art House, a concept that transforms the hotel into a living gallery where Australian art, design, and hospitality converge. Leading the inaugural season is Louise Olsen, co-founder of Dinosaur Designs and respected Australian artist.

Since opening, Louise’s works have been on display within the boutique hotel: Still Life, a Barrisol artwork suspended on the ceiling of Bar Julius, and Dream Garden, a hand-knotted Tibetan wool and silk work – and now, as Art House’s debut artist, Louise is showcasing eight new works, courtesy of Olsen Gallery, alongside Dinosaur Designs objects throughout the lobby.
“With these new works being installed at The EVE, I’m exploring the relationship between nature, landscape, and atmosphere, and the vibrations that happen where they touch. There’s a sense of the elements being simultaneously empty and full, where the space around the forms pulse and become just as important as the marks themselves,” says Louise.
These new works are a mixture of acrylic, pastel, and oil paint on Belgian linen, created from the comfort of her Southern Highlands studio, which sits on a lake surrounded by willow trees. It’s there that most of her art is created, fuelled entirely by music and the beauty of the surrounding nature.
As part of Art House’s seasonal run, guests who book the Art House Stay will receive a $100 dining credit to enjoy across Lottie, Bar Julius, or in-room dining and overnight accommodation in a room of your choice. Best of all, though, guests will receive a keepsake from Dinosaur Designs: the Medium Pebble Jar, reflecting the rich pomegranate tones woven through The EVE’s interiors.
A seasonal stay made by the creative and curious, for the creative and curious, find out more or book your getaway here. For more information on Louise’s art, visit here.
