QLD’s Best Coastal Airbnbs

QLD’s Best Coastal Airbnbs

Where good vibes are a shore thing.

By Hayley Hinze | 13th January 2021

Currently sitting at your desk with a case of the holiday blues? We feel you. While you may only be in your first week back at work after a splendid Chrissy break, nothing prevents you from planning your next escape from the city.

Of course, with border restrictions still in place, gallivanting across the countryside may be an all too distant dream (for now), but there’s nothing preventing you from daydreaming of an SEQ getaway in the months to come.

If your mind is a flurry with dreams of a sweet weekend getaway, we’ve got just the thing for you! Roam free, take a break, zen out – use whatever excuse you can think of to justify a visit to these sweet coastal getaways!

To help make your trip that little bit extra, we’ve rounded up the best Airbnbs around. These top-tier stays range from the Sunshine to the Gold Coast, to Hinterland homes and beyond. Proceed with caution though, because once you get there you’ll never want to leave!

A Shore Thing | Noosa, Sunshine Coast

If you’re up for something a little bit extra, this luxury gated Noosa property is it. A natural and modern design inside will make you feel like royalty, especially when you step outside to take in the amazing hilltop views. With a pool, trampoline, al fresco dining area and wine fridge, you’ll never need to leave! But we recommend you do, because the short seven-minute walk through the beautiful Noosa surrounds will land you at Sunshine Beach.

Bambari | Teewah, Noosa North Shore

Looking to escape to somewhere away from the prying eyes of others? Bambari on Teewah beach is the perfect balance of privacy and comfort. The newly built three-bedroom home is surrounded by National Park where wildlife is abundant and afternoon naps are mandatory. Reset, unwind and enjoy the solitude amongst nature in the quiet setting of this tiny beachside community. Those with a love of adventure will enjoy four-wheel driving along the sands of Teewah Beach, that stretches all the way to Double Island Point.

Barefoot Bay Cottage | Byron Bay

With a refreshing coastal palette, earthy boho textures and enough lush greenery to fill a forest, this house screams getaway in Byron Bay. Enclosed by tropical plants, the balcony really is the place to be – there’s a hanging chair, outdoor bath and even a heated plunge pool close by. Less than a kilometre from the beach and even closer to Byron’s iconic town centre, a stay at this oasis is made to rejuvenate, inspire and enjoy.

Belongil on the Beach | Byron Bay

Scoot on down to waterfront, and you’ll find Byron’s favourite little beach house. We feel obliged to say ‘little’ when referring to a beach house, but this one really isn’t – it sleeps six, and boasts spacious living and dining areas that capture the amazing views on offer. Take a few steps out to the private staircase to the beach, and enjoy sweeping views from the Byron Bay lighthouse, all the way up to southern Gold Coast.

Eco Resort | Tallebudgera Valley, Gold Coast

A bit old school with a lot of quirk, this house is like a big treehouse perched above the rural valley. A cool 250 metres of decking wraps around it all, providing breath-taking scenic landscapes and rolling hills wherever you look. Inside, it has character – high ceilings open vast living areas, with funky furniture, intriguing trinkets and shining wooden floorboards. The best part? Enjoy all these views from the generously sized pool, and invite the extended fam because this place sleeps 12!

Straddie Chill | Point Lookout, Stradbroke Island

Imagine a two storey, Caribbean-style beach house all to yourself – this is living. Enjoy a quiet holiday at Straddie in this fresh and spacious property, complete with a national park in your backyard and sweeping views from the front deck. This deck is also the go-to spot for whale watching, where you can see right out to the crystal waters and beyond. Alas, the beach is not just for looking at, so take the mere 150 metre walk to see it all up close.

The Sun Deck | Coolangatta, Gold Coast

As the name suggests, the resort-style deck is the star of this show, featuring an open-air heated bath, heaps of sun lounges, shade umbrellas and even a firepit for when the sun goes down. Make the most of the panoramic views from the city skyline to the crystal blue ocean as you lounge around this modern coastal-themed house. It’s all very boho chic, with crisp white, earthy tones and some leafy greenery. The bathrooms almost look like a day spa! Massive bonus points because holiday here, and you can bring your pets (they’re part of the family too!).
