Enjoy Gin Pop-Ups And Ceramic Workshops At This Heritage Open Day
Who said out with the old?
Fact: the perfect day is one filled with family, friends, food, and funky tunes. Well, eastsiders, you’re in luck because the new lifestyle precinct Rivermakers is coming in hot with the goods.
Residing in Morningside, the riverfront hub is promising plenty to eat, drink, make and create, on Saturday 9 April to celebrate its Heritage Quarter Open Day. From 11am a slew of live music, DJs, food trucks, and pop-up bars will take over the sprawling lawns alongside workshops and art showcases. The family-friendly affair will also keep your little ones busy with lawn games and jumping castles galore in the Heritage Playground.
Indulge in local craft beer in the sun-drenched courtyard at Revel Rivermakers brewery and learn from the best in the biz with their guided brewery tours and tasting sessions hosted throughout the day.
Next door, the soon-to-open Bavay Distillery is offering a sneak peek inside its stillhouse – which has been whipping up booze for a century – giving guests a teaser of their artisan spirit range and tasting paddle specials in a pop-up bar.
Meanwhile, if you’re feeling crafty, Mas & Miek Ceramic House will be running ceramic workshops and stalls followed by an art showcase by Max Bennett for all you creative souls.
The Saturday soiree is set to become a regular occurrence, with the Opening Day running from 11am till late. In lieu of recent events, donations throughout the day are welcome with proceeds going towards flood relief for QLD & Northern NSW.
