Feast Like The Greeks: The Biggest Greek Festival Is Back For 2024
Did someone say honey puffs?
Opa! The Paniyiri festival is Zorbaing its way into the heart of West End for another year of food, dance, and a whole lot of honey puffs.
Once a year, Musgrave Park transforms into an epicurean oasis of quintessentially Greek dishes like succulent souvlaki, tender octopus, syrup-infused baklava, spanakopita, sweet saganaki, and of course, the holy gyros. With your hands full of each dish, expect a feast for the eyes, stomach, and soul.
A rich program full of live music, dance performances, cooking demonstrations, and competitions will keep festival-goers busy at every corner, but if you need a second to breathe, you’ll find solace in the mini Greek Village. Here, you’ll forget you’re in the centre of Brisbane, as the vibrant and lively atmosphere will transport you straight to the heart of Greece. Sip on ouzo martinis, dig into palate pleasers (yes, more food), listen to live music, and essentially live like the Greeks do; without a care in the world and surrounded by food, drink, music, and dance.
Whether you leave the dancing to the professionals or try your hand at it and join in on a group Zorba, or tsifteteli (freestyle), grab the opportunity to dance, eat, and Greek out with your friends until nightfall.
Plus, the Sideshow Alley acts as a mini Ekka with rides, games, bumper cars, and fairy floss galore. The perfect potion to entertain (*cough, cough* tire out) the little ones! What are you waiting for? Tickets are on sale now. Purchase yours here.
