Me Oh My! Don’t Miss This Film Premiere And Boujee Ball

Old Hollywood meets Met Gala

By Paige Van Lunteren | 1st June 2021

If you thought cinema days were gone, Brisbane film Director, Executive Producer and Writer, Charli Burrowes of MeOhMy Studio, is here to prove you wrong. Notorious for her dramatic style and vintage flair, Charli is launching her new short film alongside Producer Madison Sturgess and team, in the typical avant-garde fashion we’ve come to know and love.

To celebrate the release of MeOhMy Studio’s latest work of cinematic art, ‘I Can Be French’, Charli is hosting a real-life film premiere and afterparty in Brisbane on June 12. Think: tiny femme independent films with cinematic, hyper-stylised visuals and whip-smart dialogue. It’s time to travel back to the 1920s and ‘30s when it was customary to dress up for a luxurious night out at the picture palace!

With an all-black dress code, it’s time to bust out the beloved ball gown, dress it up with a touch of leather or lace, and top it off with a dramatic red lip to attend the screening at Balmoral Cineplex’s charming vintage theatre.

In Charli’s words, guests can expect “an absolutely bonkers” black-tie ball to follow. From 7pm to midnight, burlesque dancers, bottomless booze, a band, and beautiful blooms will take over the glamourous and elegant Rose Room perched on the top floor of Cloudland (Think: gorgeous Gatsby vibes).

For $125, guests will be treated to a night of bottomless beverages, delicious food, entertainment, and stunning scenery, as well as a preview of the latest print collection by MeOhMy in collaboration with The Marker.

Tickets to both the film premiere and afterparty are on sale now, but they’re on the third and final allocation. Grab yours here!
