Ho, Ho, Ho! Here’s Where To Get Festive In The City This Christmas
Santa’s been busy
Now that the gremlins and ghouls have gone to bed, Christmas is in full swing at Brisbane City. From 26 November to 6 January, there are plenty of merry activities for the whole family that’ll be sure to make even Scrooge smile!
Experience all the magic of a Brisbane Christmas at King George Square this festive season and watch the Lighting of the Christmas Tree from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Friday 26 November. The sky-scraping 22-metre tree is truly a sight to be seen, accompanied by the special Christmas musical performances. If you can’t make it, don’t be a humbug – the lighting will be live streamed via the Brisbane City Facebook page.
For even more festive fun, don’t forget to stop by the Lott City Hall Lights in King George Square from the 10 to 24 December. With a dazzling display inspired by The Night Before Christmas on show every 15 minutes from 7.30pm until midnight, it’s a magical kaleidoscope of colours and music for everyone to enjoy. Best of all, it’s free!
Queen Street Mall is also getting in on the jolly action with Christmas on Queen from 3 to 24 December. Featuring daily pop-up performances and roving entertainers along the mall, don’t miss the fun at 11am – 3pm and 4.30pm – 8:30pm during late night shopping.
If you can’t wait to sing your heart out to ‘Last Christmas’, ‘Jingle Bells’, and more cherished classics, the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols. Taking over Riverstage on 11 December from 4pm, tickets are only $5. If you can’t make the event in person or just want to relive the night of joy, gather ‘round the tv with eggnog and tune into Channel 9 on 19 December for a broadcast of the event.
Tickets will be on sale at 10am Wedesday 1 December here.
