Freeze! A Sweet Ice Cream Festival Is Coming To Brisbane

Ice, ice baby

Beat the heat in the coolest way possible as Brisbane welcomes back its sweetest sold-out event for 2022!

The beloved Brisbane Ice Cream Festival is taking over West End’s West Village from 26 March to 9 April to celebrate all things cold, creamy, and coned. With plenty on each weekend, we’ve got the scoop on all the action.

As the original site of the Peters Ice Cream Factory, it only makes sense that West Village’s exquisite array of cafes and restaurants know a thing or two about ice cream, which is why from Saturday 26 March to Saturday 9 April, they’ll be serving up the sweetest specials paying homage to the history of West Village. Think roasted brulee bubble tea at Taste Tea, nutmeg croissant French toast at Picnic Cafe, a Sicillian gelato sandwich at Italian Street Kitchen, butterbing affogato at Cheeky Poke Bar, and more. And, of course, resident ice cream specialist Anita Gelato will be churning out their incredible flavours for the entirety of the festival.

Iconic festival favourites will also be setting up shop on Saturday 2 April and Sunday 3 April to serve everything from traditional gelato to ice cream rolls, and even ice cream copycats (aka frozen yogurt). The festival-within-the-festival will see the return of the Ungermann Brothers gourmet ice cream burgers, Roll It Ice Cream Co’s famous ice cream creations, and more.

On 9 April, snag a spot at the Chef’s Playground decadent dessert degustation. Blessing us with the culinary skills of local chefs Philip Johnson (e’cco Bistro and Philip Johnson Catering), Matt Golinski (Ready Steady Cook and Peppers Noosa Resort) and William Wallace (executive chef at William Wallace Group), expect experimental flavours and some unforgettable combos! Tickets are limited and highly sought-after, so snag yours here
