Crooked Colours Brings A Trippy Electro Gig To The Triffid This Halloween
hauntingly good
By Ava Barker | 22nd October 2026Halloween falls on a Saturday night this year, and you know what that means? You’d better start looking for some spooky plans. Luckily for you, The Triffid is giving you the perfect excuse to hit the town donning your best Halloween costume (yes, there’s a competition), because they are hosting an electro-indie gig from a music festival mainstay that’ll really take you to another world.
He’s the Australian multi-platinum electronic dance act with over one billion streams and sold-out headline tours under his belt, and he’s returning to the stage in Brisbane this Halloween for a costume-clad gig that’s really going to electrify. That’s right – Crooked Colours is playing at The Triffid this Halloween, and you don’t want to miss out.
What to expect
Celebrating his fourth studio album – and first solo album – Dirt Road Gold, this is a career-defining moment for artist and producer Philip Slabber, marking the beginning of a new era for the Fremantle-born artist. The result is a genre-hopping album full of sonic masterpieces, spanning alternative beats, euphoric melodies, and electronic stabs, all set alongside Slabber’s hauntingly good vocals.
Before the main event, the party starts at 2 pm, with free music from Ghost Mutt, Adjoa, and 88 Tokamak, plus spooky cocktails and burger specials all day at The Triffid Beer Garden. There will also be a costume competition and parade at 7 pm for your chance to win a $100 Triffid food and beverage voucher. So, we suggest you start planning those outfits now.

Boundary-pushing beats
Crooked Colours is renowned for pushing boundaries, and he effortlessly genre-hops through Dirt Road Gold with songs like ‘Pink Limo’, a melodic, uplifting dance track that sounds like a Euro beach club at sundown, and ‘Come Through’, a moody indie-pop anthem where Slabber’s crooning vocals take centre stage.
Expect to hear – and dance to – these hits and more at the Dirt Road Gold Tour, coming to The Triffid for one night only. It’s a chance to experience the music of Crooked Colours within the intimate, old-school atmosphere of The Triffid, one of Brisbane’s favourite music venues. Its industrial interiors and laid-back character make it the perfect place to discover emerging artists or catch your favourite acts up close. Escape the mosh by heading outside to the beer garden, where you can grab a burger and a tall glass of *insert beverage of choice here*.
Tickets won’t last, so get yours now before they’re gone.
