Fling on your fanciest frock and get set to hit the town because Brisbane Fashion Festival is officially back for 2023! Dressing up the heart of the city with the best local and national design talent, we’ve got your insider look on all the action and how you can snag front row seats!

From Monday 21 to Friday 25 August, King George Square will play host to a thrilling line-up of more than 50 designers, varying from beloved Aussie labels to daring up-and-coming fashion. So, what’s on the agenda? Pull up your calendar and let’s pencil it in:

Runways

Brisbane Fashion Festival’s runway program kicks off on Tuesday 22 August with The Star Brisbane Fashion Show: a showcase of iconic Australian designers, with new-season styles from Camargue, Bonita Collective, Samantha Oglive, Une Piece, Carla Zampatti, Bianca Spender, Sass & Bide, and Gail Sorronda. The biggest retailers will also be hitting the stage, including Edward Street Brisbane, Wintergarden, and QueensPlaza.

Wednesday 23 August will see the newest and brightest players in fashion design flex their muscles in the Hancock Prospecting Next Gen Group Show. The diverse and original mix of creativity includes Rachel Burke, TAFE QLD Brisbane, YLD Design, Fashion360, QUT Fashion, Lightning Boy by CJ, KG Bold, Balaquin, and more. If you don’t know their names yet, you certainly will remember them once their pieces grace the runway!

On Thursday 24 August, Queensland’s most-loved designers and retailers will come together in a spectacular showcase – think Sonia Stradiotto Couture, Gina Kim, White Label Noba, Naudic, Mea Culta, Bastille, Sacha Drake, JOAEN, and ShiloLydia to name a few. And while the Designer Group Show will wrap up the runways for the year, there’s still plenty of stylish celebrations on the ground!

Special Events

Brisbane Fashion Festival’s most indulgent fashion event is back with the High Tea and Designer Salon Showing on Monday 21 August, presented by QueensPlaza, Wintergarden, and Edward Street Brisbane. New to BFF is the Palace Cinemas Fashion Film Retrospective also on Monday 21 August, which will feature a special screening of Prêt-à-Porter – the 1994 film shot on location at Paris Fashion Week with a host of international stars, models, and designers.

The Queensland Ballet High Tea & Costume Panel Discussion will take place on Wednesday 23 August at the Thomas Dixon rooftop terrace in West End, with members of the Queensland Ballet costume department discussing their creative process from conception to creation. Brisbane Fashion Festival is also proud to partner with Beyond DV to support Dress To Express Day on Friday 25 August, in solidarity with survivors of domestic violence.

Food & Drink

Since you’ll already be dressed in your finest, guests are invited to make the most of their night at Brisbane Fashion Festival, with the return of the FashionBites program. Some of The City’s and South Bank’s hottest bar and dining venues will be dishing out special offers perfect for a pre- and post-show bite. The dedicated pop-up Epicure Fashion Bar will also once again take place in King George Square each evening of the Fashion Festival.

Tickets for Brisbane Fashion Festival are on sale now, with gold and platinum passes available for you to experience the full VIP treatment. $1 from every ticket sold will also be donated to BFF’s official charity partner for 2023, The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust.
