Grace Titmus is the owner of GT Studio, a Brisbane-based agency specialising in brand events, with a select focus on weddings throughout the year. Grace draws inspiration from florists and interior designers alike, following Instagram accounts like Sir Botanical, Fritillerie, and Sarah Ellison for their cool and innovative work.

For Grace, double-sided tape is an essential tool she can’t work without, especially on event days. “It just comes with me everywhere,” she laughs.

GT Studio was born as a side project while Grace was still working full-time. “It started about three years ago as a portfolio for my creative work and grew naturally from there.”

Grace’s creative process begins with a deep dive into Pinterest. “I usually start with a good Pinterest stalk, pinning anything that sparks a little something. My team and I then create a mood board and pull inspiration from what we’ve gathered. At this point, there aren’t many new ideas, so it’s about building on those foundations and seeing where we can take it.”

One of her most memorable projects to date? The Dissh gala earlier this year. “They gave me full creative license over the whole event, which was amazing. We designed custom curvy tables and brought in an ice bar from Sydney. It was a massive undertaking but incredibly rewarding.”

Grace Titmus is not just a designer but a visionary who transforms spaces into experiences. Her tips and insights are sure to inspire anyone looking to add a touch of creativity and flair to their next event.

“Hosting is a wonderful opportunity for creativity while also being a way to connect deeply with friends and family,” Grace shares. “When designing a concept, I recommend focusing on a theme or leaning into a trend to maintain a consistent look and feel.”

Grace highlights fabric styling as a trend that’s making waves. “Fabric styling is huge right now. It’s a great place to start when building your concept. A quick trip to your local Spotlight can yield a few meters of fabric to play with along the table, allowing you to create a beautiful, textured look by ruching and bunching as you go. Another trend that has taken centre stage is chrome. I love a good thrift haul, and there are always plenty of chrome platters or coupes to pick up that add a touch of modernity.”

For Grace, ambience is key to any successful gathering. “Lighting sets the mood. I would recommend either going for a signature scent or lighting a couple of candles. That soft, flickering light will elevate your setting instantly. Don’t be afraid to explore colour here as well — it’s a great opportunity to add an extra layer that complements your other styling pieces.”

Produce styling is another element Grace swears by. “Fresh produce can really cement a colour story or add a textural layer, injecting life and movement into your setting. It’s a technique we use time and time again with our clients.”
