Step Inside: Katherine Denton Jewellery Opens Its First-Ever Showroom in Armadale
By Kiri Johnston | 21st March 2025Jewellery lovers, this one’s for you. Melbourne-based Katherine Denton Jewellery (KDJ), the brand behind those effortlessly elegant pieces that whisper sophistication rather than shout it, has just flung open the doors to its very first showroom. And where better to set up shop than the leafy streets of Armadale? Nestled inside a charming Victorian house on Beatty Avenue, this space isn’t just a showroom, it’s an experience.
Think of KDJ House as stepping inside Katherine’s own living room (if her living room was filled with sparkling diamonds and bespoke design pieces). “I didn’t want a typical retail space,” Katherine shares. “I envisioned something personal, like an extension of my home. A warm, inviting space where clients can connect with the jewellery and experience it up close.”

Tessa James and Candyce Huntsman of AKI Interior Design with Katherine Denton, Founder of KDJ.
And that’s exactly what she’s created. Designed in collaboration with AKI Interior Design Studio (aka the dream team when it comes to sophisticated spaces), the new showroom feels like your chicest friend’s house. The interiors are all about warmth and understated luxury—soft white walls, natural sisal flooring, and sheer curtains that let the light dance in just right. There’s even a glossy burgundy cabinet, custom-designed by AKI and crafted locally by Space-man Studio. It’s the kind of detail that makes you stop mid-conversation.
Of course, no KDJ space would be complete without a few statement pieces. A dramatic pendant light by BRAHMAN PERERA sets the mood, while the dazzling Glas Italia Kooh-I-Noor Specchi Mirror makes the whole room shimmer. (Yes, you’ll be tempted to snap a selfie. We won’t judge.)
But this isn’t just about the aesthetics. The opening of KDJ House marks a huge moment for the brand, which has already made waves online with its ready-to-wear collections and bespoke designs. Now, Katherine’s clients can experience one-on-one consultations in person, whether they’re dreaming up a custom engagement ring or falling in love with a delicate necklace from the latest collection.
“It’s a beautiful environment where people can see our ready-to-wear pieces and enjoy personalised consultations in an inspiring setting,” Katherine says. And honestly? We’re already planning our visit. KDJ House opens mid-March at 31 Beatty Avenue, Armadale. Appointments are available Monday to Friday, with weekend slots coming soon (so keep an eye out).
Until then, we’ll be adding a few more pieces to our wish list.
