Let the party begin

Good news for fans of food and frivolity alike! The final stage of the GPO’s multi-venue offering has an opening date, bringing the best of its sister venues in one suave space. Say hello to The Tax Office

The bar, restaurant, and late-night locale is set to be an upscale dining and drinks destination, that serves as the perfect backdrop for everything from mid-week dinners, casual knock-off drinks, and busting out moves on the dancefloor. With VIP booths, bottle service, and a host of resident DJs adding to the Tax Office’s late night offerings, the GPO’s latest venue pulls out all the stops until 3am.

The heritage architecture featured throughout the historic building is contrasted with sleek finishes and luxe installations, including a bespoke infinity bar adorned with a soaring tower of bottles that disappear into an endless tunnel of colour and light. Pull up a seat to dine from the Tax Office’s dedicated kitchen, led by ex-Rockpool Group and Artesian Executive Chef Richard Harris, who has reimagined timeless classics and delectable small bites. Designed for sharing, the menu features the likes of salmon tartare, sesame-crusted barramundi, and provincial duck ragu – encapsulating varied flavours to captivate even the most discerning diner.

From 9pm, the restaurant and bar will transform into a high energy and refined partying experience, as the Tax Office becomes a hive of late night activity. Spaced across two rooms with plush private booths and mezzanine levels, the GPO is certainly securing its place as Fortitude Valley’s new hotspot.

To celebrate its opening, the Tax Office is Shouting Brisbane, treating every local to a round on them with a $25 voucher to splash on a drink or bite of whatever you’d like. Don’t mind if you do? Head here to snag your voucher.

The Tax Office officially opens on 11 August. Book here. For more info on the GPO’s other venues – TAMA and The Gatsby – head here.
