Northsiders, your local is getting a lift up! Iconic Nundah pub, The Royal is about to undergo a huge $1.1 million renovation this winter, transforming into a lavish entertainment and dining area.

Though this classic hangout is getting a sparkling modern finish, The Royal will be returning to its original name, Royal Hotel – a nod to its impressive history.

The first floor will be re-done into a huge entertainment section with plans to book live music and comedy shows for the room. The area – with a 200-patron capacity – will be available for private event hire.

The bistro and terrace will become a relaxed and refreshed dining spot  decked out in greenery, tasteful marble-look tables, and checkerboard floors. Accompanying this boujee finish, the bistro will be gaining a fresh menu with classic pub dishes and more seasonal plates.

It’s all part of the Australian Venue Co’s (AVC) master plan to reinvigorate pubs around Queensland with The Royal next in line for a makeover. AVC’s Chief Operating Officer, Craig Ellison says they are focused on staying true to its unique heritage. We have worked closely with the architects to ensure that, like The Crown Hotel,  we are creating a modern pub that residents and families are proud to call their local,” Ellison said.

Room renovations are kicking off from 26 April, with the full refurbishment and name change to Royal Hotel to be finished up in mid-July 2023. The venue will remain open throughout, with certain sections temporarily closed for different periods of time.
