PSA: A Slice Of Italy Has Landed At Eagle Street And It’s Called Massimo

Hey Massimo, Massimo Italiano!

By Dinushka Gunasekara | 11th August 2021

From the moment you enter Massimo, it’s clear to see that the UEFA EURO isn’t the only thing Italians are winning at!

Platters of fresh seafood, perfectly melt-in-your-mouth pasta, irresistible steak, and food from the farm – a feast at this riverside setting is akin to the plates you’ll find in the homes of Rome, seasoned with a contemporary twist.

Another polished fork in the drawer for restaurateur Michael Tassis – whose culinary accolades include Rico Bar & Dining, Opa Bar + Mezze, Fat Cow Steak & Lobster, and George’s Paragon – Massimo Restaurant is the slice of Italy complementing the suite of scrumptious restaurants under his belt.

“Eat, live, enjoy” is the motto here, where spectacular Italian cuisine is served alongside exquisite service and stunning river views. It makes Massimo the perfect place both for connecting with your company and people watching with an aperitif in hand.

Bringing their heartfelt ethos to life is Head Chef Davide from the Abruzzo region on the east coast of Italy. Known for their world-renowned wine, Abruzzo’s cruisine stretches from seafood dishes of the shores to hearty pasta, pork, and mutton inland. To savour the authentic style, a visit to Massimo is never an in-and-out-affair – the casually elegant ambience paired with the divine dishes makes meaningful conversation and shared laughs over a long lunch or slow dinner practically inevitable. Discover freshly picked vine tomatoes, handmade pastas, doughy salted breads, perfectly cured meats, and mouth-watering seafood!

No matter how you arrive, you’ll want to leave aboard a Vespa to complete the bona fide experience. With an aesthetic that takes notes from the serene Mediterranean Sea, blue-walled booths line the back of the restaurant and olive trees sway throughout, while the long inviting bar waits ready to serve up something with a kick! But the true delight of Massimo really comes down to the details, accomplished with freshly picked vine tomatoes, handmade pastas, doughy salted breads, perfectly cured meats, and mouth-watering seafood. It’s a glorious spread to rival even the most passionate nonna!

Massimo is open for lunch every day 11.30am-3pm, dinner Sunday – Thursday 5.30-9pm, dinner Friday and Saturday 5.15-9.30pm and the bar open daily from 11.30am.
