Back In Bloom: BNE’s Iconic Hibiscus Room Gets A Modern Revival
A sunshine state of mind
Hey, Slim Aarons, eat your heart out!
Embark on a nostalgic journey with Brisbane’s exciting new retro style restaurant and bar, Hibiscus Room. Yes folks, this sunny 70s-inspired poolside dining city favourite is making its glorious comeback this month.
Perch yourself poolside at Hibiscus Room at the Hyatt Regency Brisbane for cocktails with a side of city views, Aussie fare, and damn good times. Reviving the iconic name, Hibiscus Room was Brissy institution from Lennons Hotel back in its heyday, and was once the city’s leading bar and music venue, hosting a bevvy of international guests including The Beatles.
Step back in time in style thanks to the long-awaited (and necessary) interior refresh that’ll pay homage to the era, but with a modern twist thanks to the custom Australian-made furniture, funky furnishings, and cool-as-a-cucumber colour palette of coral and green. R.I.P shagpile carpet!
As for the food, Head Chef Ricky Cheung is paying homage to the signature Hibiscus classics taking cues from the 70swhile showcasing his skills with sustainable local produce.
Tuck into entrées like the chilled Moreton Bay bug cocktail before treating your tastebuds to some quintessentially Queensland flavours with barbecue king prawn with chilli and mango salsa, Rockhampton beef rum cap and Southern Queensland lamb loin chops.
Hibiscus Room will open on 8 December and is set to become the talk of the town as the city’s go-to place to dine, drink, and celebrate.
