This Intimate Laneway Wine Bar Is Brimming With Italian Drops

Salute!

By Dinushka Gunasekara | 15th February 2023

Tucked into one of The Valley’s many bustling laneways is a humble wine bar pouring a taste of Italy on the reg.

Called Dark Red, the cosy space on Bakery Lane is home to an expansive range of Italian wine and Australian-grown Italian varieties. With Brisbane hospitality veteran Hannah Wagner at the helm, the rotating stock on the shelves offers plenty to please.

With the option to take home a vino or sip on site, their ‘gram is full of the history and backstory behind the curated selection, including a dedicated array of drops from female winemakers. From boujee labels served by Coravin to quality wines that are easy on the pocket and a rotating list available by the glass, the laidback and personable setting makes for the perfect knock-off drink.

P.S. Dark Red is dog-friendly so your pooch can settle in for a sesh of DJ tunes and charming conversation too!

Dark Red is now open at Bakery Lane, 694 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley.
