A Chic Restaurant With A Burrata Bar Arrives In Newstead
The namesake dish = delish
Newstead is quickly cementing itself as Brisbane’s go-to foodie hub and its latest addition is certainly taking the cake! From Paddington’s favourite, Nota, comes a fresh new 90-seater restaurant, tucked away in a new laneway off Longland Street. Going by Allonda, the polished new venture is unpretentious, laidback, and offers a Modern European-style dining experience that’s sure to have you licking your chops.
Featuring a raw seafood bar with locally sourced premium options and a burrata bar (!!) with oozy cheese and a variety of different flavour pairings, the designed-to-share menu turns seasonal Australian produce into drool-worthy dishes. Menu highlights include WA scampi with roasted tomato butter, pasta made fresh daily from Nonna’s secret ragu recipe, fried black pudding with brown butter mayo, and the venue’s namesake – a signature Venetian risotto all’onda that perfectly walks the line between dry and brothy.
Group sommelier Yanika Sittisuntorn has big plans for the evolving 90-bottle wine list, alongside a special Coravin menu. Known for her knack of choosing underground varieties, the approachable list is great for wandering outside your comfort zone, or opt for the cocktail menu designed by bar manager Ben Horswell featuring traditional options and those with an adventurous Allonda flair.
Allonda is set to open early October at 17-21 Longland Street, Newstead.
