By Astrid Taemets | 2nd December 2020

With less than a month to go, it’s time to talk business. Presents, baking, decorations – yes, it’s a tad stressful, but pulling together the perfect Christmas Day outfit is expert level stuff. Whether your day involves breakfast, a pool party or dinner event, your outfit inspiration lives here.

We’re all too familiar with the feel of a Queensland Summer, so with these pieces you’re guaranteed to be looking and feeling cool. Happy shopping!

Dreaming of a White Christmas

We’re dreamin’ of a white Christmas alright, but swap out the snow and hot chocolate for white sandy beaches, crisp linen looks and frozen margaritas instead! Nothing is more quintessentially Queensland than a white dress on Christmas day in a crisp cotton or breezy linen fabric, and we’ve found plenty of brands who’ve got just the thing. Whether you choose to max out in a full-length floaty number, or keep it fresh in something more playful, you’ll look ready to party in these heavenly designs. Add a lil’ bling to your look with some festive earrings and funky sunnies, then tie it all together with barely-there strappy sandals.

Poolside vibes

Chrissy Day by the pool is all too common for us summer celebrators, and this year a one-piece swimsuit is the way to go. Enjoy Christmas lunch knowing that your fit won’t falter in these flattering shapes, suitable for a dip with all members of the family. A wide leg pair of pants are and easy way to dress-up your suity, while a wide-brimmed hat and retro pair of sunnies will keep you sun safe and add a touch of Riviera-vibes to the day. The only other thing you need is a poolside companion, like one of these stylish beach bags, to keep all your poolside essentials (SPF, phone and towel) in.

City celebrations

While Queenslanders are no stranger to flaunting their fair share of colour, a celebration like Christmas Day is the perfect excuse to flaunt it! Embrace vibrant pops of colour in fun fabrics for an unforgettable day. Yellow is trending like hot cakes this season, so embrace the sunny shade, then finish off your look with some bigger-than-life jewels, a playful clutch and a swipe of your favourite red lippie.

Waking Up Festive

No matter how old you are, Christmas morning has a certain kind of undeniable buzz, even the biggest of kids. Unlock maximum comfort with a set of silk pyjamas this silly season, and they’ll soon become your fave pj’s to wear all year-round. Simone Perele’s loungewear collection is sophisticated with delicate lace trims and French-rolled seams, while Peter Alexander never fails to make sleepwear look stylish. So, come Christmas morning, rock a satin pyjama set Complete the look with a lightweight gown and minimalistic gold jewellery.

A Casual Christmas Eve

Ah the calm before the storm – maybe it’s Christmas Eve dinner, or a Secret Santa exchange with friends. Whatever you’ve got going on, don a look that’s stylishly festive, and a lot of fun to wear! Cut-out styles are huge this season – and keep you cool during these hot, humid summer days, while rompers are a practical and sweet option. Get playful with your footwear and accessories, to keep your look fun, fresh and holiday friendly.
