Post-2010s, we saw the surge of delicate, fine jewellery, and us fashion enthusiasts drenched ourselves from head to toe in it. Just ask me—good luck finding a spare spot on my ears, fingers, or wrists that isn’t covered in it. But with 2024’s collective celebration of maximalism, this shift towards chunkier pieces comes as no surprise.
How did this come about you ask? If we want to point fingers, let’s start with Bottega Veneta’s drop earrings. Sparking a global obsession with chunky, retro earrings, the trend has since migrated to our wrists, with chunky bangles, whether stacked or solo, adorning the arms of fashion-forward folks.
From twisted, to curved, to wonky, and straight, the best bangles come in all shapes and sizes. For minimalists, a single piece is all they need to punctuate their look, but for the maximalist girlies out there, what’s stopping you from layering multiple bangles and mixing metals and textures?
