Hip hip hooray! Your favourite railway yard turned lush haven is celebrating its 20th birthday in the best kind of way this spring.

Roma Street Parkland is playing host to a blooming bunch of events this September to help you spring into the season. From breezy tunes to historic deep dives, and floral extravaganzas, grab your picnic blanket and take a look at what’s on offer below!

The Sound Society

When: Sunday 5 September

There’s double the entertainment and double the fun at this spring special edition of The Sound Society, with a curated program at Roma Street Parkland. Think two live music acts, food trucks, a model boat regatta, and sweet treats or savoury bites from The Garden Room Cafe, alongside a BYO tipple of your choice.

Spectacle Garden

When: Until early October

Smell the daisies and a whole lot more with the annual floral showcase at Roma Street Parkland’s Spectacle Garden. Wander through a curated display of over 16,000 annuals, which were planted months ago and timed just right so you can experience the full bloom in all its glory. You’ll also find a cake that’s literally too good to eat, layered with six rare varieties of Kalanchoe and frosting in White Alyssum florals, to celebrate the Parkland’s 20th birthday!

Blooms & Tunes

When: Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September

Sway the afternoon away on Celebration Lawn as Brisbane’s favourite crooners offer energetic sounds to fill the enviable alfresco climate we know and love. There will be plenty of food trucks on hand to satiate any cravings or order a specially curated picnic hamper from The Garden Room Cafe. You can also BYO spread, and the outdoor venue is licensed from 10am – 8pm. Don’t forget your four-legged friends – Blooms & Tunes is dog-friendly!

Plant Market presented by BrisStyle

When: Saturday 18 September

Whether you’re a wannabe green thumb or have your roots firmly in plant lover territory, this outdoor market has all the leafy goodness you could ever want! From striking monstera, hanging devil’s ivy, or the sought-after fiddle leaf, 30 stalls will be hawking the goods, including accessories and homewares. There will also be interactive workshops throughout the day like pot painting, embroidery, and kokodamas to get your craft on – book here.
