Tune-In To These Hottest 100 Events

The countdown is on!

By Dinushka Gunasekara | 20th January 2021

Pull out your headphones and listen up! The votes are in. The tension is high. The Hottest 100 is back to have that one friend who only listens to T Swizzle asking ‘who’s this’ all day long.

On Saturday 23 January from midday AEDT (*minus the two, carry the one* that’s 11am for us Queenslanders), Triple J is counting down the background music of all our lockdowns. Streaming the biggest tunas all day long, we’ve rounded up all the places you need to be when WAP is number one.

The Brightside

Get in, loser, we’re going grooving at this car park party! Your favourite emos are taking it outside for a cruisy day spent sipping quality drinks and vibing with your crew by The Brightside. Tickets are a sweet $20 and once the winner has been called, DJs will keep the tunes going until 1am.

The Triffid

It’s The Triffid – what more do I have to say? The lush surrounds of The Triffid Garden will be home to grooves and games all day, with the Hottest 100 Countdown Bingo back to stir up the action. The kitchen will play host to tasty specials and DJs will be at the ready to bang out the bangers from 6pm.

Rics Bar

Slap on your floaties and your suavest Hawaiian shirt for a backyard party with all the goods! Inflatable pools are taking over the Rics space, so you can sit back and finger tap with one hand and man-handle a sanger in the other – oh, did we forget to mention the free BBQ? Plus, a mountain of bands and DJs will obvi be kicking on once the countdown is done.

Lost Palms Brewing Company

If you haven’t had the chance to check out Sherwood’s newest recruit, then here ya go! It’s first in best dressed for this countdown with no bookings needed. The barbecue will be firing to serve up Aussie food specials and Lost Palms’ Hottest Hazy of 2020 will be making its return to announce the best IPA of the year.

Story Bridge Hotel

An Aussie beer garden party will be taking over the Outback Bar at the charming Story Bridge Hotel, slinging out tunes and themed food specials. With raffles and cheeky giveaways from the good people at XXXX beer, book a table to make sure you don’t miss a beat.

Sea Legs Brewing Co.

Snag a brew and a limited release egg, bacon and BBQ sauce pizza as Sea Legs Brewing Co. counts down both the Triple J and GABs Hottest 100s. Just a hop, skip and a jump from the Story Bridge, you’ll also be on hand for the tapping of a brand-new beer, only available at the brewery.

XCargo

You’re probably no stranger to getting jiggy at this social hub, so it’s the obvious choice to tune into the Hottest 100! With plenty of nooks and crannies to hide out in case your top 10 are nowhere to be seen, the vibe will be strong from 12pm to late.

Ballistic Beer

Beer bellies will be in tip top shape here, as Ballistic Beer streams the GABS Hottest 100 on the big screen, while Triple J is bumping on the stereo. With their own brew, Hawaiian Haze, in the running, they’ve pulled out all the stops, including food trucks and entertainment for kids both big and small.

The RE

Head on down for a pub party in this beer garden because The RE is where you’d rather be! With the Hottest 100 pumping live and loud all day long, it’s a no brainer!

Convent Garden

The music industry wasn’t the only place dropping hits in 2020! Convent Garden is counting down the top drops that poured out of the Aussie craft gin world as part of their Ginuary Festival. A $39 pass will get you access to four gin degustation stations plus finger food, while the Hottest 100 package at $149 includes all the above as well unlimited access to over 100 Australian for four hours!

The Sound Garden

Calling all cheeky koalas! Get your butt amongst the first 100 through the door at The Sound Garden to snag a free Red Bull, then boogie through the day and night with the Hottest 100 followed by live music and DJs when the sun goes down. When you’re running out of fuel, their true-blue Aussie menu will pick you right back up!

Tippler’s Tap

Straight up good times are on offer here, as Tippler’s Tap have teamed up with Ballistic Beer to celebrate the Hawaiian Haze Pale Ale that punters have backed for the GABS countdown. Chuck on your Hawaiian shirt for your chance to win a Hawaiian Haze shirt and case, plus get your hands around their specialty Aussie burger and H-Haze combo!

Archive Beer Boutique

Great music and even better beer is exactly what this Boundary Street spot was made for. With both the Triple J and GABS countdown blasting off from 11am, you can dig into a pulled lamb burger with beer battered fries for $15 all day long, and a schooner of house beer for a slick 5 bucks!
