Grab A Slice Of Italy At The Charming New West Side Pizza
Bellissimo
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, it’s time to visit West End’s new Italian pizzeria, West Side Pizza.
Raffaele Persichetti – who you know as the owner of beloved Mexican taqueria, Mama Taco – unveiled his new venture at the end of last year, fueled by the desire to find the same quality of pizza that’s common in Italy right here in our River City. Persichetti took it upon himself to replicate the traditional-style pizza, providing West End with the drool-worthy, authentic pizza that we deserve.
The menu of over 20 deluxe pies includes all your classic go-tos, such as margarita, pepperoni, and a delightfully spicy calabrese. As for the more distinctive menu items, you’re looking at flavourful pairings like the Mario with rose, truffle, bresaola, or the lobster calzone dripping in thermidor sauce. Smaller plates are also on the cards from arancini balls to eggplant parmigiana, and a mouth-watering dessert menu, featuring Italian gelato flavours worthy of their own visit, like baklava and burnt sourdough. Pro tip: order the focaccia pizza, but warn your friends you won’t be sharing.
And while you may think you have no room left in your belly, you’ll find space for their unique and droolworthy range of gelato flavours like burnt sourdough, pecan, mango and lime, and a scoop load more.
Set in an intimate space on the corner of Vulture Street and Hardgrave Road, this hole-in-the-wall pizzeria is the perfect location for an after-work slice, a laid back date, or a family affair where everyone is chuffed.
West Side Pizza is now open at 25 Vulture Street, West End.
