Paddock to plate at its finest

If true luxury and exquisite scenery are your kind of jam, Scenic Rim’s new country restaurant has your name all over it!

The Paddock restaurant is soon to be sitting pretty on the beautiful Wagyu and polo farm, Hazelwood Estate, surrounded by fresh air and farming heritage. Showcasing local produce that stand out in their own right, The Paddock offers an original take on casual fine dining.

With one of Australia’s best appointed as Chef-in-Residence, Cameron Matthews (previously Spicers Group Executive Chef and Churchill Fellowship award winner), expect unpretentious, wholesome fare, like beef tartare, lamb cutlets with Towri fetta, and a rustic farmer’s breakfast platter.

“Our menu is built around food sourced from local markets, our very own market garden and beehives, and premier Australian producers. Our focus is on creating an incredible dining experience that will leave you inspired and full. We’re proud to share this authentic paddock-to-plate philosophy with you,” Matthews says.

The divine tastes and textures pair perfectly with a hand-picked beverage from resident sommelier Luis Buchan’s curated list of Australia and Europe’s best. The Paddock has also collaborated with the award-winning Victorian craft brewery, Edge Brewing Project, to create a New England Style Lager exclusive to Hazelwood Estate, cementing the experience from a refined era.

The gorgeous Scenic Rim views aren’t the only treat for your eyes – the architecture of the restaurant features floor-to-ceiling windows and soaring ceilings to give you the most of the rolling green hills. Designed to mimic a country polo clubhouse with a modern farmhouse aesthetic, the walls are graced with photographs from the renowned Ascot-based photographer, Kara Rosenlund, which deserve an up-close inspection from the restaurants’ up to 40 guests.

The Paddock opens on September 1 at Hazelwood Estate, 422 Binna Burra Road, Beechmont. Reservations are required as visitors will need an access code for the front gates. Book here.
