PSA: The Team Behind Mrs Brown’s Opens A New Bar And Kitchen
We’ll cheers to this!
We’ve all had a cracking good night out under the regal gaze of a beagle known as Mrs Brown, so gather the troops and get ready for your next sesh, because she’s about to get a sibling!
The owners behind Mrs Brown’s Bar & Kitchen, Ben and Tarryn Brown, have been getting their hands dirty converting a pair of WW2-era hangars into a moody and modern space that will play host to Stratton Bar & Kitchen. Sitting next to The Triffid, the mammoth space will include a 150-seat dining area, a central bar area, function space, and a covered courtyard for all your sipping needs.
Mrs Brown’s chef Andrew Toms will be making the move to Stratton with a menu of home-style share plates and one-handed bar snacks that take influence from a range of cuisines. Think chicken karaage milk buns with Japanese tartare, potato skins with porcini salt and manchego cheese, or green tea soba noodles with green miso.
While an extensive wine list of 70 bottles will be on hand in their popular 250ml-sized pour, it’s the new cocktail list we have our eye on that boasts over 40 varieties prepared with house-made syrups and shrubs.
Stratton Bar & Kitchen is now open at 3-5 Stratton Street, Newstead.
