PSA: An Italian Snack Bar Has Popped Up At Howard Smith Wharves
Snacks, sunsets, and spritzes galore!
Longing for an Italian summer spent downing endless limoncellos, soaking up the Mediterranean sun, and sampling the vibrant flavours of the Amalfi Coast? Alas, us too *sigh*.
Whilst the European escapade we all long for may exist merely as a distant daydream for now, fear not! Swooping in to cure that pesky travel bug, the masterminds at Howard Smith Wharves have launched a delicious, bite-sized Italian eatery and, boy, is it a beauty!
Say ciao to Spuntini Bar – the latest charming pop-up to grace the grounds of our fave riverside hang-out. This sweet little spot will be dishing up a spectacular array of mouth-watering snacks, antipasto plates, and spritzes on tap, accompanied by a stellar wine and cocktail selection.
Located at the Rivershed Deck, Spuntini is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5pm till late, so you can sit back, snack, and sip through the afternoon glow of golden hour, into the sunset and beyond!
‘Spuntini’, which translates to ‘snack’, is a term often used to describe the Italian concept of sharing multiple different dishes and enjoying a leisurely meal as a group. So, round up your pals for an Italian feast and enjoy the sweeping river views as you bask in that end-of-week bliss, with a vino in one hand and an Aperol in the other.
To emulate the dreamy Italian coastal atmosphere, a handful of Brisbane’s finest DJs will be spinning a soundtrack filled with groovy Italian-inspired disco beats that will transport you straight to a balmy Amalfi sunset in no time.
What’s on the menu to accompany those twilight tipples? Here’s a sneak peek:
Treat your tastebuds to pizza frittas, arancini, spanner crab bruschetta, zucchini flowers, roasted peppers, anchovies, and thin-and-crispy pizzas. Got room for dessert? A zesty scoop of sorbet is sure to satisfy that sweet tooth.
Spuntini Bar is now open from 5pm until late on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
