The Fox Hotel Has Just Reopened As Hotel Terminus – Here’s A First Look
we are so back
By Victoria Lewis | 25th June 2026Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that the iconic Fox Hotel has been staging its epic return thanks to Brisbane hospitality heavyweights, the Ghanem Group, and the time has finally come – the doors to the revamped venue, now named Hotel Terminus, have officially opened.
It’s the heritage-listed South Brisbane landmark known for its Sunday sessions and iconic rooftop; now, the four-level dining, entertainment, and events space has been completely transformed behind its original facade by the crew behind Donna Chang, Byblos, and Bisou Bisou.
If you grew up in Brisbane, you know the Fox wasn’t just a venue – it was a rite of passage and quite literally shaped a generation of Brisbane nightlife. Heavily missed since its closure in 2022, Hotel Terminus is reinserting itself into Fish Lane in a way that’s “bigger, bolder, and more Brisbane than ever”.
Now open, ready, and raring to go, here is a first look at the new and improved Hotel Terminus, and everything you need to know about the venue.

Choose your own adventure
Designed by Queensland-based design studio Space Cubed, the revived Hotel Terminus will offer a choose-your-own-adventure experience, with distinct venues spread out across the multi-level venue. Offering the light and shade of Brisbane all under one roof, this southside hotspot will swiftly see you through weekday knock-offs all the way to all-out celebrations.
“Every floor has its own story, but there is a thread that connects them. We wanted guests moving between levels to feel like they are discovering something new each time,” says Space Cubed Director Arran Woollams.
The Fox Rootfop returns
Brisbane, we are so back. It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Brisbane’s most beloved rooftop oasis has returned. An homage to its former glory, The Fox Rooftop has been reborn as a modern social epicentre.
Taking over the entire top floor, the rooftop is where vibrant cocktails, an international food menu, and expansive CBD views beckon, while live tunes will soundtrack many a great night out to come. If you spent any time up here in the 2010s, you already know: this rooftop had a chokehold on Brisbane night owls, and it’s safe to say, it will once more.
Ground floor
Then, on the ground floor, an all-day gastropub will set the scene for lively pints and parmis with elevated pub feeds, a dedicated gaming room, a sports bar, and a bottle shop. Bringing back the beloved long bar, the space features an 18-metre atrium, a brand new Fish Lane entrance, and plenty of spaces to sink into for relaxed meals and easy weekend sips.
The menu, overseen by Head Chef Lyndon Tyers, behind Donna Chang, alongside Group Executive Chef Jake Nicolson, is a well-considered array of pub classics that excite. From lobster hot dogs to Moreton Bay bug rolls, a tandoori chicken pie to a premium Queensland steak, the offering is well considered without being overcomplicated (and it sounds seriously delicious).

Vixen Room
Paying tribute to the hotel’s past, the Vixen Room is where things get sultry. Trading Thursday to Saturday, this moody, late-night lounge, still dressed in the hotel’s original architectural charm, offers craft cocktails, plush seating, and a smooth rotation of DJs and live entertainment. Offering guests something a little more unhurried, The VIxen Room is made for those who want to settle in for an evening of deep conversation with a properly-made whiskey in hand.

Function spaces
Rounding out the space, level one stays completely dedicated to functions and events, with three unique private spaces fit for your next do, be it a business conference or a big birthday bash.
Upstairs, it’s all about the celebrations. Think two large event spaces and an entire private dining level – perfect for parties, corporate gatherings, and everything in between.
Each named after the original owner, architect and builder of the venue, The Addison Room accommodates 100 guests seated or 200 cocktail-style, The Hayes Room is suited to 50 seated or 80 cocktail-style, while The Carrick Room offers an intimate private dining room for just 14, complete with unique wallpaper and textural finishes.
Hotel Terminus is a perfect nod to where it all began, while embracing the new era that’s about to unfold. Consider this your sign to start texting the group chat; it’s time to get on down to Hotel Terminus and toast to a new chapter of South Brisbane nightlife.
