A Spicy New Addition Is Coming To Naldham House This February

Turn up the heat

It’s only January, and we’ve already got some seriously spicy news fresh off the stove.

The final stage of Brisbane’s luxe revamp of the iconic heritage-listed Naldham House is here, and it’s coming in hot. Introducing The Fifty-Six, the city’s newest dining destination that’s about to set the scene ablaze. Opening this February, the Fifty-Six promises to be a vibrant Cantonese restaurant blending traditional flavours with contemporary flair. As the jewel in the crown of Naldham House’s stunning transformation, this restaurant celebrates the rich history of Chinese immigration and its cultural influence on Australia’s – and Brisbane’s – culinary landscape.

What’s cooking?

The Fifty-Six is led by the talented Chef Gerald Ong, whose culinary prowess shines in celebrated Canberra hotspots like Mrs Wang, Lucky Duck, and Golden Panda. His menu promises to reimagine classic Cantonese dishes with the finest Australian ingredients, offering a modern twist that’s anything but ordinary. What are they dishing out? Steaming crystal skin Moreton Bay bug dumplings, wok-tossed Mooloolaba prawns with curry leaf and salted egg, a meticulously curated selection of dry-aged roast meats, and more. We’ll take one of everything, thanks!

The Fifty Six Naldham House

Since its reopening in July, Naldham House has transformed into a multi-level drinking, dining, and events hub. With waterfront views, unbeatable cocktails, and now the arrival of The Fifty-Six, it’s solidified itself as Brisbane’s It destination for food, vibes, and all things bougie.
