By Eva Wright | 22nd January 2026Some people plan their year around holidays – here at Style, we plan ours around restaurant openings. Be the ultimate foodie in your group chat this year with our ultimate cheat sheet of Brisbane’s most exciting restaurants, bars, and cafes coming in 2026.
Green Cup | Open January
Since we’re so hot on the topic of 2016 right now, let’s talk acai bowls. Having conquered Melbourne CBD and suburbia with a total of 8 stores, the grand New Farm opening this January marks the couple’s first interstate expansion. Honestly, they couldn’t have secured a more prime location in the Little Lane Precinct, aka the top spot for a fruit-fuelled HGW riverwalk. That’s Saturday morning sorted. Our must-trys? The Hailey-Bieber Skin Glaze smoothie (duh), the Classic Acai bowl, or the tropical Green Magic. It’s no wonder they already have a line around the street on the daily.
Aunty | Coming February
Bringing the bold to Fortitude Valley’s Wandoo Street, Aunty is the latest sophisticated modern-Asian restaurant from Brisbane hospitality powerhouse Tassis Group. Opening on 5 February, Aunty is taking traditional techniques and blending them with contemporary flavours, plated generously for a shared feast. We are particularly excited for menu highlights like whole chilli mudcrab from the live tank, half duck two ways, and char siu pork neck. Bold, considered, and poised to really shake things up in Fortitude Valley’s dining scene, read all about the coveted opening here.
Venner | Coming February
Guided by the heartwarming sentiment that a meal shared is a meal cherished, Venner was created by friends, for friends. Taking over the space previously occupied by Gum Bistro in West End, this February, the team behind Milquetoast will bring us the tastes of Scandinavia reimagined through an Australian lens. Think a fresh, seasonally driven menu, sustainable practices, and a space designed to sit down, savour slowly, and enjoy the ambience. When bookings open come February, we’ll be on Venner’s doorstep before you can say “skål”!
+81 Sushi Kappo | Coming February
Set the date – February 5 ushers in a new benchmark for the city’s Japanese culinary scene. +81 Sushi Kappo West End’s first take of omakas led by Michelin star-trained chef Ikuo Kobayashi is set to be a fierce celebration of Japanese culture and culinary craftsmanship. In an intimate setting accommodating just 12 guests, +81 Kappo sits next to its equally refined sister venue Aizome Bar. The best part? There are no menus, no ums and ahhs over dishes – just the quiet luxury of tradition, technique, and trust between chef and guest. Read more here.
Comuna Newstead | Coming March
For anyone who’s constantly dreaming about Comuna’s tacos, the wait is over. The team has finally found a venue to expand their taco empire beyond their iconic Brisbane City and Stafford locations. Comuna is officially coming to Newstead this March, bringing its famed Mexican cuisine north for long nacho-fuelled lunches, golden-hour margs, and vibrant post-work catch-ups over shared guac. Read more about what’s in-store here.
La Bodega | Coming very soon
East Brisbane = conquered. Fortitude Valley = coming very soon. Awarded QLD’s best Mexican restaurant in 2025, this hot, modern Mexican joint is definitely deserving of a second location. La Bodega boasts a food menu that pretty much leaves you licking the plate clean, alongside a seriously impressive range of signature margs – try their frozen coconut marg with pink, boozy, hibiscus foam or else. If you have no plans on Tuesdays coming up, now you do – 2 for $10 tacos. Oh, yeah.
Éclair at the Bay | Coming very soon
Sweet treat lovers rejoice! Introducing Éclair at the Bay, the decadent, European-inspired patisserie that leaves you hungry for more. The move is set to place the sweet sensation into the bustling streets of Newstead. Renowned for his contemporary desserts, eclairs and choux-based fineries, Pastry Chef Pavel plans to expand the reach of his Michelin star training beyond the Northern Rivers in 2026.
Bar Cooper’s | Coming soon
A neighbourhood eatery poised for relaxed, savoured weeknight dinners, Bar Cooper’s is the new venue from the duo behind Snug, Leaham Claydon and Jianne Jeoung. Opening soon, Bar Cooper’s is set to become a community staple, celebrating seasonal flavours and Brisbane’s signature laid-back vibe, all wrapped in moody interiors with copper-toned touches. Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates here.
Le Royale | Coming soon
And just when you thought they’d done it all…the Anyday group promises the public a new spot to sip until late in the evening, nestled in the heart of the city. Marking their fourth venue in twelve months – enter Le Royale. So, what do we know so far? Well, not much other than if we trust anyone to knock our socks off time and time again, it’s Anyday. Oh, and that it will no doubt be ultra-moody, outrageously glamorous, and perhaps a little bit naughty. Watch this space.
Point Hotel | Coming soon
In 2026, experience The Point Hotel from a whole new point of view. Soon to be named Point Hotel, this reimagined venue will stay perched high atop Kangaroo Point (arguably one of the most scenic Bris-based landscapes), and will enter a new chapter of suburban luxury. From the creative vision behind some of Brisbane’s most aesthetic hospitality venues, including MAYA and Fiume Bar, designers Bergman & Co have shared that we can expect an elevated resort feel with a rich, urban finish. And the food? Under the direction of Head Chef Marcus Turner, Point Hotel will unveil a fully reimagined food and beverage identity brimming with fresh, seasonal produce. Find out more about the coveted redesign here.

Hotel Terminus | Coming mid-2026
Good news Millenials, The Fox returns! Under its new name, Hotel Terminus, the renowned Ghanem Group will reimagine the iconic South Brisbane venue to be bigger, bolder, and more Brisbane than ever. The heritage-listed landmark will transform into a four-level dining, entertainment, and events precinct anchoring the heart of Fish Lane. From an iconic ground-floor bar reborn, all the way to the top with the return of Fox Rooftop – this will be a re-opening for the ages. It’s goodbye, Fox, and hello, hot, new Hotel Terminus. Want the full rundown? Head here.
Alfi Eatery & Bar | Coming mid-2026
Inspired by the relaxed, vibrant culture of the Amalfi Coast, the Ghanem Group is bringing a slice of the Mediterranean to Everton Park with Alfi set to launch later this year. The vibes will be easy, breezy, and, like any Ghanem venue, the food will be effortlessly refined. The result? A family-friendly atmosphere for Italian-inspired eats and easy-going group gatherings. Find out more here.

Norman Northside | Coming late 2026
The Norman Hotel’s famous flame-frilled flare is taking a trip across the river this year, with a Northside destination set to open in late 2026. Already an iconic Wollangabba venue, best known for its “Brisbane’s worst vegetarian restaurant” slogan, the new Enegorra location will still focus on an open-grill menu, but with refined architecture that screams relaxed, yet considered – think tall ceilings, rounded archways, and natural timber finishes.
