St Patrick’s Day is one of those events you can’t get enough of, and Irish or not, is pencilled into many of our social calendars. Dressing up and drinking beer – it’s always a good time.
This year, get into the spirit as Brisbane plays host to an array of Irish events to celebrate the annual day, including the long-standing Irish Festival. See what’s crackin’ in March to feel the Irish cheer and luck, and don’t forget to dress up in your favourite green outfit!
St Patrick’s Long Weekend at Irish Murphy’s | Brisbane City

If there’s anywhere to be this St Pats’ day, it would be rude not to be at Irish Murphy’s. An iconic Irish destination in the city, they’re putting on a party weekend-lon with four huge days of the best live music Brisbane has to has to offer. See Irish music legends The Gathering, Ger Fennelly, Mark Butler, and visits from the lovely people at the Qld Pipe Band and more!
Brisbane St Patrick’s Day Parade 2020 | Brisbane City
When: March 14
Prepare to see a flood of green hit city streets. The St Patrick’s Day Parade has been held amidst the streets of Brisbane city for the past 31 years, flooding the inner-city district with a colourful convoy of more than 80 floats. It’s not your typical parade – you’ll see everything from dancers, leprechauns and even green fairies! It’s a must see!
St Patricks Eve Dinner | Brisbane City
When: March 16
This event is another great one for the whole family. Enjoy an evening of fine food, beer, wine and entertainment and Irish camaraderie. You’ll be able to join distinguished guests and Queensland and Irish representatives to continue more than 122 years of celebrating Irish culture and heritage in Queensland. It’s $150 per person at the Pullman Brisbane Hotel, you don’t want to miss out!
Paddyfest 2020 | Eagle Farm
When: March 14
Paddyfest in a must on the social calendar! Check-out authentic Irish rock bands, traditional pipe bands and Irish dancers and really immerse yourself into the Irish spirit. You’ll have endless amounts of food to choose from the variety of food trucks and of course, plenty of Guinness to go around. Don’t forget to dress up in your favourite Irish outfit too – think green everything! You may even get crowned best dressed and win some awesome prizes. Don’t worry you can bring the kids too, there’s a designated Kids Zone, an ideal day out for all ages.
