If your social calendar is looking a little too quiet this weekend, consider this your official sign to fix that. From a legal game of two-up on ANZAC Day this Saturday to matcha puppy playdates, there is plenty of fun to be had in Brisbane this weekend. So text the group chat, clear some space in your schedule, and let’s get into it. This is how we’re spending the weekend.

Why not honour the ANZAC spirit this weekend with a pub feed, live music, and a lively game of ‘two-up’ (after all, it’s the only day you can legally play). It’s never a bad time to score a bargain, and with Brisbane Vintage Exchange happening this Sunday, there’s never been a better way to luck out with unique wardrobe finds. Find an abundance of pre-loved vintage clothing, sneakers, jewellery, vinyl, accessories, and more from local sellers making their mark. With change rooms, easy parking, wheelchair access, as well as coffee and food trucks available, this is not your average second-hand market, and it’s certainly not one to miss.

Up for a laugh? Don’t let the woes of winter get you down. Instead, round up your crew for endless nights of side-splitting humour at Brisbane Comedy Festival. Comedy greats from near and far are descending upon Brisbane Powerhouse and other iconic Brisbane venues – quick wit and all – setting the stage for flushed cheeks, schoolgirl-like giggles, and some seriously good old-fashioned LOLs.

Not that you needed any convincing, but this is your sign to embark on a bottomless brunch with your mates while the Brisbane River glistens below. Meanjin Artivists April Edition

This Saturday, Meanjin Artivists are hosting their second event. This relaxed creative session of art and activism will create a space where you can paint, collage, and sketch, all inspired by the monthly topic. This April, the focus is on intersectionality and intersectional feminism. Come down to Woolloongabba and show what it means to you through art and creativity. With free entry, art supplies provided, and snacks available, there’s really no reason not to get involved! This event is completely free to attend, but you can register your interest here.

Pups and Matcha

Animal lovers, this one is for you. You’ve heard of puppy yoga, now let us introduce you to Pups and Matcha, a puppy playdate in the park by She’s Social in collaboration with Moocha Matcha (BYO pup). It’s the brand behind everyone’s favourite emotional support water bottle, frank green is officially touching down in QLD, with the launch of its first pop-up in Robina. Central 中環 Dim Sum Club

Stuck for Saturday plans? Central is serving up a bottomless underground lunch party and it’s seriously delicious. Dim sum meets disco at Central’s long lunch banquet ($59pp) that combines traditional Cantonese flavours with bottomless iced tea and specialty cocktails. Arrive for lunch, then linger until the disco ball drops at 2PM for the perfect way to greet your Saturday night.

Affordable Art Fair Brisbane
