The Scenic Rim’s Sold-Out Music Festival Is Back With Epic Headliners

Did someone say road trip?

By Bianca Licina | 23rd September 2025

Picture this: golden hour spilling over rolling hills, a drink in hand, barefoot on the grass, and Boy & Bear taking the stage as the stars wake up overhead. That’s the vibe at The Long Sunset, and in 2025, it’s pitching camp in the Scenic Rim’s prettiest pocket — Boonah.

After a massive sell-out in 2024, The Long Sunset is back. From Friday 31 October to Sunday 2 November 2025, the Scenic Rim will come alive with a weekend of world-class music, workshops, food, and golden-hour magic just over an hour from Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

A line-up worth roadtripping for

Headlined by indie heavyweights Boy & Bear and pop powerhouse Vera Blue, this year’s bill is stacked with big names, fresh faces, and everything in between, namely Gretta Ray, The Buoys, Jem Cassar-Daley, Playlunch, Tjaka, The Vernons, Bunny Racket, Paper Lane and Silk ’N’ Oak, winners of the festival’s community-voted comp, alongside genre-defying performances from Ben Barker, Billie Weston, and members of the I Heart Songwriting Club.

More than music

This isn’t just a gig — it’s an immersive festival playground. Think artisan markets, roving performers, circus acts, First Nations storytellers, Sip & Create art workshops, frog-habitat building, silent discos, line dancing, yoga at sunrise, and of course, a steady trail of bubbles thanks to festival favourite Miss Bubbles.

Friday kicks things off with a special live set from Bayley Pearl at Boonah’s iconic Commercial Hotel, setting the tone for a weekend where anything can happen.

Easy to get to, hard to leave

Leave the logistics to someone else and kick back. Bus transfers via Pineapple Tours will shuttle you in and out so you can focus on the fun, not the drive – you can book your transfer here. And while camping has already sold out, Boonah has plenty of boutique stays, eco-lodges, and country pubs to turn your weekend into a full Scenic Rim escape.
