One Night Only: Athens Comes to Hellenika

If you’ve ever tried to bottle the feeling of a late European summer night, with chatty atmospheres, cold drinks and shared plates, this experience is pretty much that. For one night only, Line Athens is taking over Hellenika for ‘Shared Lineage’, an alfresco evening bringing contemporary Athenian drinking culture to the table.
It’s happening on Saturday 21 February and it’s presented by Tequila Don Julio 1942. At its core, this one’s about a shared love of Greek food, flavour and hospitality, and if you know Line Athens, you’ll understand. Widely regarded as Greece’s leading cocktail bar and currently ranked #8 in the World’s 50 Best Bars, they’re known for thoughtful, fermentation-led cocktails that are clever, layered and interesting.
Behind the bar on the night is Giannis Vavadakis, Line Athens’ Research and Development Manager, who’s created three bespoke cocktails just for ‘Shared Lineage’, built around the naturally elegant profile of Don Julio 1942, with a focus on balance, warmth and subtle depth.

The food is just as considered. Hellenika’s à la carte favourites will be paired with dishes inspired by the Line Athens menu, creating an easy flow between what’s on the plate and what’s in the glass. Greek food done the Hellenika way, designed to sit comfortably alongside the drinks.
The alfresco setting plays its part too, relaxed and social, much like a warm, balmy summer night in Athens. ‘Shared Lineage’ is a one-off experience, an evening designed to be enjoyed as it happens, with the focus on good drinks, good food and the company you’re there with.
Tickets are $120 per person and include a curated banquet menu plus a choice of one of Line’s cocktails to start. Seatings are available from 5:30pm, 5:45pm, 6:00pm and from 8:00pm onwards, with tickets limited.
Two of the cocktails will live on at Hellenika after the event, but the full experience, the atmosphere, the pairing, the moment, is strictly for one night only. If you care about good drinks, thoughtful food and well put-together nights, this is worth making plans for.
