A Dedicated Photobooth Venue Is Coming To Brisbane

your next night out, on film

By Guest Styler | 9th October 2026

Some of the best photos from a night out never make it to the ‘gram. They’re the strips tucked into wallets, pinned to fridges or rediscovered at the bottom of a handbag months later. A little blurry, occasionally ridiculous and all the better for it.

That’s the appeal behind Juliet’s, a new arrival on Brunswick Street set to become Brisbane’s first dedicated photobooth venue when it opens in New Farm this October.

The premise is simple: step inside, close the curtain, push a button and leave with printed photos. No editing, no scrolling through 40 near-identical shots, no group chat debate over which one everyone approves. Just you, whoever you’ve pulled into the booth and a keepsake from the night.

With deep burgundy tones, curtains and warm lighting, the small space takes its cues from vintage European photobooths and late-night neighbourhood bistros. Somewhere to duck into after dinner, on a date or during a wander through New Farm with friends.

“We’ve taken inspiration from classic European photobooths and those intimate, late-night neighbourhood bistros,” says co-founder Lucas Eckersley. “The idea was to take an experience that people already know and love, give it our own identity and create a permanent home for it here in Brisbane.”

For Eckersley, the concept draws on years spent working in hospitality and travelling, where small venues often became the most memorable stops. Juliet’s brings that approach to Brisbane with a space dedicated to an experience that usually occupies a corner of somewhere else.

Its launch campaign offers a glimpse of the nights it hopes to become part of. Shot and directed by Jessie Obialor, it follows real couples and friends around New Farm: eating together, kissing in lifts and wandering the neighbourhood before stepping behind the curtain.

It’s a fitting introduction to a venue built around preserving a few seconds of a good night. The dinner might be over and the drinks finished, but the photo strip gets to come home with you.

Juliet’s opens in late October 2026 at 701 Brunswick Street, New Farm. Follow @juliets_photobooth for opening updates.
