Here’s One More Reason You Should See The Book Of Mormon Before It Leaves Brisbane
make a night of it
By Victoria Lewis | 11th September 2026Just a little reminder for you all that The Book of Mormon is only in Brisbane for one more month, and while it’s here, you might as well make the most of it.
As a lifelong live theatre fan, I find that nothing is as immersive as when the lights go down, the curtain goes up, and a story unfolds right in front of you. It’s the element of escape for me that makes it all so enticing. It’s a similar feeling to a fresh hotel room: that feeling of nowhere to be, endless possibilities, and being in another world just for a moment.
To spread this feeling out over 24 blissful hours, I thought, why not have the best of both worlds with a hotel stay plus complimentary theatre tickets? Hotel Indigo has teamed up with The Book of Mormon for an exclusive show-and-stay package that will truly make you feel like a VIP. And let me tell you, this is the only way you should experience live theatre.
The ultimate stay-cay
We started the occasion with two Book of Mormon-inspired cocktails at Hotel Indigo’s Bar 1603, then geared up for the theatre show everyone’s been talking about (and now I know why). But the artistic flair didn’t begin on the stage, because Hotel Indigo sets the mood with eclectic, artsy interiors, curated wall art, and floor-to-ceiling murals on every corner. If there’s anything that gets you in the mood to indulge in the arts, it’s this sleek city stay.
Truly making for the ultimate night out at the theatre, the package included the lot: overnight accommodation for two, a themed theatre welcome pack and cocktails, complimentary parking, and breakfast for two to cap it all off. Available to book from now until 4 October 2026, this exclusive stay-and-show package is the ideal way to experience Australia’s biggest-ever musical comedy hit. After a swift walk across the bridge, with only a minor wardrobe malfunction along the way (but that’s a story for another day), it was time to let the show begin!

You really ought to see this musical
Now, as someone somewhat clued in to the arts, I’d heard the hype, I’d read the reviews, and I knew the accolades (a nine-time Tony Award® winner, including Best Musical), but honestly, nothing could have prepared me for The Book of Mormon. In what is a hilariously funny, raunchy, outrageous production, I can report that this musical sensation lived up to expectations.
I would describe The Book of Mormon as the perfect way to dive into musicals even if you’re not strictly a theatre fan. You can feel the raunchy humour from the creators of South Park and two-time EGOT winner Robert Lopez come out in small one-liners, all-out ballads dedicated to curse words, and unorthodox themes with a refreshingly blunt attitude. The perfect combination of hilarity and artistic prowess, The Book of Mormon really is a must-see while it’s still in town, and the perfect excuse for an immersive stay-cay.

Whether you’re planning a date night, a weekend escape, or a night out with friends, Hotel Indigo’s stay-and-show package is available exclusively until 4 October. Book your spot now by clicking this link.
