Catch Us If You Can: The Only GC Marathon Guide You’ll Need
lace up!
By Yana Van Der Byl | 25th June 2025It’s that time again — the Gold Coast Marathon is lacing up for July 5–6, and whether you’ve been clocking 10ks since January or just banking on vibes and adrenaline (guilty), we’ve got you. This is your no-stress, high-style survival guide to race weekend — what to wear, where to run, and where to sip a very well-earned marg after. Because yes, you can run 21 or 42km and still serve looks doing it.
The Fit
If you’re going to clock kms, do it in style. Think biker shorts that don’t ride up, a sports bra that actually supports, and sneakers that’ll carry you across the finish line and to brunch. We’ve rounded up the gear that goes the distance — without killing the vibe.
The After Party(ies)
Let’s be real — it’s not a proper race weekend without a good post-run pour. Here’s where to shake out the legs and celebrate like the finish-line legend you are:
Retro’s Surfers Paradise knows you ran for the good times — now it’s time to party for them. On Saturday 5 July, they’re turning up the post-marathon energy with throwback bangers, and dancefloor stretching that totally counts as recovery. Bonus points: flash your marathon wristband for free entry all night.
Gemelli Italian is dishing up the ultimate “Running on Ragu” recovery party — because carbs, cookies, and curated skincare are basically race-day essentials. On Sunday 6 July (10:30am–2pm), head to The Oxley Carpark in Nobby’s for beats by Fletcher Kirkman, a protein gelato collab from Pillar Performance x Gemelli, sweet treats from The Milkman’s Cookies, and a Dermalogica hydration station to bring your sweaty little soul back to life. Think of it as the finish line after the finish line.
Lululemon Clubhouse at QT Gold Coast is serving serious post-race glow. Start strong with a live taping of the Inside Running podcast (1:30–3:30pm) featuring Brady Threlfall, Julian Spence, and Bradley Croker breaking down all the race-day drama. Then roll into rooftop recovery mode (3:30–6pm) with food, drinks, and breezy Sunday vibes — the ultimate cool-down, Lululemon style.
Sana Days x Hedges Run Club are throwing a post-run bash at The Henchman on Sunday 6 July. Carbs will be replenished, spirits will be high, and shoes may or may not stay on.
