WHO RUN THE WORLD?

By Ava Barker | 5th March 2026

Grab the girls and spend a morning celebrating yourselves on International Women’s Day this Sunday at Joey’s Kangaroo Point, where The Female Edit Festival will take over the riverfront with a curated celebration of women in business.

Perfectly timed for those taking part in the Mater International Women’s Day Fun Run, the festival doubles as the ultimate post-finish line reward — whether you’ve clocked the kilometres or are simply looking for an excuse to start the morning with friends.

Running from 6am through to mid-morning, the free, one-day event brings together a hand-picked lineup of some of Brisbane’s most-loved female-led and female-owned brands, spanning beauty, fashion, wellness and lifestyle.

Expect a morning of festival-style pop-ups and exclusive activations. Enjoy protein smoothies to refuel post-run, sunrise Pilates sessions courtesy of Vicalates, permanent jewellery and beauty touch-ups — all soundtracked by female DJs spinning on the decks.

Here’s everything you need to know about what’s on offer.

Wellness

Get ready to fire up your core and activate those glutes with Vicalates, Brisbane’s own Pilates powerhouse. or those skipping the Fun Run but still keen to get a sweat in, what better way to do it than with a sunrise mat session on the riverfront overlooking the city skyline? Vicalates will host three complimentary 30-minute Pilates classes at 6:30am, 7am and 7:30am, giving early risers the chance to start their morning mindfully.

Once the endorphins are flowing, stop by the fresh flower pop-up from Avalon Florals, because leaving with a bouquet in hand is the perfect act of self-care.

Fashion

On the fashion and accessories front, Sal Resort, the Noosa-based label known for its effortless resortwear, will host a styling pop-up alongside Props, showcasing a curated selection of its innovative phone cases.

Rebellious Grace will be offering soldered permanent bracelets and jewellery, while Moony Ink will provide delicate micro femme tattoos for those feeling adventurous.

To round things out, Dr Diamond will be offering complimentary jewellery cleaning to keep your favourite pieces sparkling. Talk about pampering.

Refreshments

Fuel up after the run with Kailo Nutrition protein smoothies, or indulge in a sweet treat from Darvella, the Bulimba patisserie known for its cult-favourite cinnamon scrolls.

Lola’s Coffee Bar will be serving its signature ube and pandan matcha creations, while Cinca Tequila, founded by Australian surfing champion Stephanie Gilmore, will be shaking up cocktails as the morning unfolds.

Beauty

If your post-run look calls for a quick refresh, Bella Brows will host an express brow bar to keep arches looking sharp.

And if your hair needs rescuing after the race, Blow Dry House will offer express sporty hairstyles designed to take locks from sweaty to sleek in no time.
